I'm glad that this has worked out pretty darn well for you!
But I'm sorry to hear that the rig is going to be sold.
Will you be getting another?

I understand...
But you're still part of our family, and we'd hate for you to leave us.

A potential big financial loss by percentage due to a now cured bad wash job?
We'll need a little more understanding on that.
When said out loud it doesn't project as normal behavior.

Help us understand.

Congratuiations! Glad to hear it all worked out, or will.

I'm still gobsmacked that someone allowed this product to be marketed, when it could conceivably render million dollar motor homes worthless. Someone didn't check with their risk management department! I'm just picturing the plaintiff attorneys reading about this and drooling.

You have a contact at Wm. Barr Co.? Isn't that also known as the Dept. of Justice? And Spray & Forget decided to mess with YOU???

Best of luck.

JimSpy, yep, I am in like Flynn, oops, no, things didn't go well for him eitger, but yes a contact the DOJ, I wish.

Soon as Wm Barr Co. reimburses me then I will be done with them. I got an email saying the check should be in the mail Friday (day before yesterday). I have heard that plenty of times in the past. Keeping fingers crossed. Just have to wait & see.

Can you imagine acquiring a company (Wm Barr bought the company that made the Spray & Forget products) in March 2019 and inheriting this mess? PR nightmare.

Sorry for commenting on an old thread.
I really enjoyed all the great information from all the posters including the OP.

Thought on the above comment...
I am sure they bought the company out of bankruptcy or something close to it after the original company released this product. That product clearly cost the original company a fortune.

There most have been enough good products to make that sale worthwhile.
As a condition of the sale/bankruptcy, I am sure the new company was required to set aside money to pay off these claims. It would have been difficult or impossible to remove all this product from the supply chain.

Early in the thread I was wondering how any company could survive this kind of nightmare and seemed so willing to pay. The comment above from the OP gives some pretty good clues.

At first glance, it would seem that way, but think about recalls of certain foods and produce, where they have to pull it off the shelves in a day. The time consumed by having to check lot numbers, etc. I think this would be a piece of cake in comparison. "Everything in your store that says 'Spray & Forget'? Well, don't spray it, just forget it. Throw it out! And don't let anyone buy it!"

I hadn't thought of it that way. You make a good point.
I would however point out that most food recalls have a chance to kill you, or make you violently ill.
I doubt if Walmart really gives a hoot about your rv "sheen".
Most will be pulled as you say, but I wouldn't assume more than that.

I also don't thing they will take on a lot of liability if they miss some of this product.
Most food products if not sold in a reasonable time will get pitched no matter what. Chemicals/cleaners/etc could sit on the shelf/warehouse for years.

I do however see your perspective. It is very valid.

Eminently well-formulated rejoinder, sir. But consider: Wal-Mart may not give a hoot, but Wal-Mart's lawyers would. Especially the ones in their Risk Management/Loss Control departments, who have nothing better to do, and who see every conceivable hazard as a potential payout. But you make a good argument that the prospect of actual human death would cause the shelf-stockers to act with greater alacrity.

At least, one would hope...

. I thought we were talking about killing the finish on an RV: not the owner...
