Thank you, Thor...seriously!!

Well we got back from our 2 day shakedown weekend, only after the help from the 1-800 Thor tech person.....my biggest fear(the full wall slide out stuck extended) happened as we were packing up to leave. Thankfully we went only an hour or so away, and had our car with us at least for peace of mind and to get to hiking trailheads...
The slide came in about 12" before stopping in the front only. We went back and forth before doing the manual override which didn't help!! We called General RV where we bought and they didn't help. Within 1 hour of our call, the Thor Tech talked us thru a couple of experiments, showed us where the T bars are under the floor, and ultimately told us of his "hillbilly, rodeo method" of shaking the slide back into position!! It worked!! Unhook everything, clear the table tops, accelerate quickly and SLAM on the brakes...WONDERFUL !!
He also said we'll need a new motor, but hey, we're Home!! It'll go to the dealer Monday with that task and the others on our punch list, but we now have good feelings about our new Miramar 35.2 again...phew!!
Can't wait for the next trip in 2 weeks..they better have it for us then...ha!!

It almost seems like they would be better off putting some huge rollers on these slides and having you pull them out and push them in manually and put locking pins in place.

I think that I agree...

...Right up to the point where the locking pins fail out in traffic!

“Hillbilly, rodeo method”?

One more reason for not wanting a slide of any size.

If you don't like slides.....
Find a floor plan u like and disconnect the power to the slide (s).
Don't use them but you will have for resale.

Thanks. While resale is a good point about slides, locking one retracted wouldn’t address my main dislike of slides. It would actually make matters worse for me. I dislike the way slides look and feel when retracted far more that when extended. The normal objections people have about slides don’t bother me as much by comparison.

showed us where the T bars are under the floor,

I'm curious about the T bars. I have two of the one pictured, under my Hurricane full wall slide. I have been wondering how they fit into the operation of the slide.

Also when I Ordered my Minnie Winnie without slides. I found out, a No Slide floor plan extremely reduces outside storage. Everything a trade off. I do agree with you. If you don't want a slide just put solid wall in....seems easier.

Actually, my research suggests the opposite. The more slides, the smaller outside storage becomes on average provided you're comparing similar-size motorhomes. But we digress; don't want to hijack this thread -- which I thought for sure had to be a joke.

from what I heard, yours look the way they should be. Centered in the space with no signs of rubbing. Ours were off center with scrape marks!! Didn't open the slide to see how they looked !!!

No joke...just tryin' to find lemonade in the lemons we were handed !!! Not happy to say the very least, but Thor did at the very least give us the option of how to get Home!! GEtting it quickly repaired is just another worry at this point. I haven't forgotten that they were 4 months late in delivery last year, and we lost our season of camping....
