Question Advice Needed: Thetford Smart Tote 2 27L

I have a chance to buy one from someone who's giving up the lifestyle. It's 2 yrs old, in good shape and supposedly used twice for grey water only. They're $130 new on amazon.

What do you think is a fair and reasonable offer given the age, etc?

Maybe , $25-$50 depends on how hungry he is to sell it. I bought one last year near Tampa for $15.

Will it fit in any compartment? I got one, bigger though, when I had an older 5th wheel and it would only fit in the bed of the tow truck. I ended up not using it because of the hassle. The hassle because we travel on trips so when leaving a dry or limited hookup site, it's was easier to stop at the dump station rather than fill a poop pot and drag it to the dump station. Probably most handy it you are in a site a long time.

Thx as always. Decided to pass. Father had one he doesn't use anymore. Has 4 wheels and can be 'gingerly' towed to a dump station. Also have ramps for MCycle so can winch into back of truck if needed.

I helped a friend make and weld a bracket to my tow hitch. Easy to store and still able to hook up my jeep for towing

Thanks Jerry. That's a great idea. I need to tow as well and this'll come in handy. Safe travels

Thetford markets a nice carrier for totes. It mounts to the ladder and swings away when you need to climb.

I originally mounted mine to the ladder. I didn't like that it partially blocked the brake lights and the weight of it on the ladder worried me a bit

I'm not understanding the weight issue. An empty tote and the carrier weighs less than 30#; much less than anyone I know who would climb the ladder.

No one would be climbing the ladder as the motorhome drives down the road, around corners over bumps and pot holes. Dynamic stresses are much higher on the ladder when moving.

Exactly my fear. Eventhough I had it on a mount and strapped tight to the ladder my concern was that weight, maybe 30 lbs???, stressing the ladder on 300+ mile drives.

The mount I made only cost a few bucks for the 1" square tubing and an afternoon
