Hurricane or Challenger and toad.

Well we have a F150 4x4 Supercrew for a toad and looking to buy a motorhome. The toad is about 5800 lbs curb weight and can be towed 4 down. Anyone with any experience towing a similar weight with either the Hurricane 35M or Challenger 37KT or 37YT?

Comments appreciated.

Based on the weight ratings, your toad may be overweight for the V-10 gas engine models. I'm not saying it won't tow, but your overall performance and hill climbing may suffer if you are fully loaded and towing as well as downhill braking could be an issue (unless you have supplemental toad brakes.) There is typically a 5,000 lb. tow limit for the V-10 models which is included in the GCWR (gross combined weight rating.)

The 37kt will not do what you need, the YT has 24k/30k chassis. But its a lot of weight back there on a V10. I traded in my F150 for a Jeep Cherokee for flat towing.

I have a 37 YT and my toad is Jeep Wrangler. I wouldn't want anything heavier as a toad.

Thanks everyone. Based on input we are looking at getting a different toad. Recommendations welcome.

Many different vehicles can be flat towed - others on a dolly...
Here is a source for annual guides of what can be flat towed from Motorhome magazine - links for 2000-2017 editions. Select the one for the model year vehicle you want to tow...
Downloadable Dinghy Guides | MotorHome Magazine
FMCA has a similar resource - you need to register on their site to access.

There are definately changes in the list from year to year... CVT (constand velocity transmissions) have made some traditionally flat towable vehicles not towable, etc...

I tow a 2010 Wrangler FWD 2 door soft top behind a Hurricane 32A.

We have a 2017 Challenger 37kt and pull a Wrangler 2 door ht.
No issue as far as pulling it. But like the reply by KC you have to be aware of the GVWR and the GCWR. The 37kt is a 22,000 GVWR-26,000 GCWR coach.
