We have a 24.1 2018 Axis and when we are hooked up to city water, the tankless heater works as good as can be expected. However, when we try to use the water pump and get hot water via our holding tank, the pressure is too low, meaning the water flow is too low, to get the tankless water heater to work. All we get is cold water. I have seen posts where folks suggest that we need to adjust the water pressure valve to increase thewater flow, however we don't know where it is located. Can someone send a picture of where it is located on the Axis 2018 and how they adjusted it?

Also, give it a few seconds to line out its temp, when you first turn on the shower I find it takes about 10-15 seconds before the temp is steady at 105 then it is good to go for as long a shower as you want. Good Luck.

Access Door For Water Pressure Adjustment 2018 Axis 24.1

I've attached 2 photos showing the access panel and the water pressure valve that says min / max. To fix the low water pressure/hot water issue with our tankless water heater, we disassembled our water pump and replaced the small diameter flex pipe with a slightly larger diameter flex pipe. Originally, our flow was 1 gal per 3 min. Now our flow is 1 gal per 30 seconds (with many plastic particles removed.)

Even though we took the advice of many from the forum to remove the plastic particles that were there during assembly of the water system before our initial use, we found many more imbedded in the pipe. Terrible quality. When we thought about our initial purchase, and the walk thru, we realized it never included a water pump check with the water in the tank. They used city water, so the hot water probably never worked with the flow we had. Hope this helps someone else.

Tankless Water Heater

Thanks to all that contributed to this thread. Finally worked out the problem with my tankless water heater thanks to you all. I replaced my cheap water pressure reducer and got a nice water regulator to attach between my city water hose and filter and the inlet opening on the rig. I set it so the guage read 55 psi and the tankless water heater works great. YAY! Ray

They actually work pretty well, once set up correctly. I like ours, for the unlimited hot water advantage. There are other operational behavior's that I don't particularly like. It does seem to be very frugal in its propane usage.

I have tried just about everything with hot water heater, suggested. Even talked with tech from Girad, the maker. His suggestion was set hot water temp to 106 or lower and take shower with just hot water. Tried it, but still wasted too much water waiting for it to get hot. My water supply is connected to a Camco water filter and a 45 psi pressure regulator. I’m wondering if that is having an effect on the hot water. Possibly slowing down the flow of water to the system. Don’t know what else to try, except bringing it back to Camping World.

Get a water pressure regulator

I put my adjustable water pressure regulator after my Camco water filter and adjusted it to read 55 psi on the guage. That solved my problem.

RichRob,

Try running without the water filter, and get an adjustable regulator, set it between 50 and 55PSI. I've got mine set to 53psi, and its working well. Sounds to me, that you do not have enough pressure and water flow going through the heater, which is critical for that Girard to work properly.

Thanks. I’ll try that next.

Love the tankless waterheater. Set it at 107* and only open hot water. No issues.

We have an tankless heater in our house and this is how we use it for showers. Sometimes when mixing hot/cold water, the temperature will vary.

We should try a survey in here about the temperatures that folks use for their showers...
(But NO pictures!!! )

I use 110...

We all seem to be within about 5 degrees of one another...
(Now someone will chime in with either a 120, or a 70 setting! )

I found 105 to hot, especially on warm summer days. Went down to 101. Problem is with just hot water on, shower looses its force. This is all based on our first trip with our Vegas 24.1

What is the site you went to about water pressure, that corrected this problem. I have tried most of the suggestions posted, with no good results.
