Thor factory recall

Has anyone seen this? It is dated 8-29-2020 and looks like it will affect my coach. So far I have not received notification from Thor.

https://www.rvtravel.com/thor963b/

Thor Motor Coach (Thor) is recalling 2,061 model year 2019-2021 Hurricane and Windsport motorhomes, models 27B, 29M, 32T, 33X, 34J, 34R and 35M. The electronic control center circuit board may be damaged from voltages over 17 volts or a reverse polarity situation.

A damaged circuit board could increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy
Thor will notify owners, and dealers will add an additional circuit module to the existing component board to provide reverse polarity and over-current protection, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin October 20, 2020. Owners may contact Thor customer service at 1-877-855-2867. Thor’s number for this recall is RC000203.

I wouldn't expect you to hear anything until the October 20, 2020 start date.

You got lucky and found it early before the official mailings started going out.

Just reading it I don't see an immediate concern of fire unless one of two things happen.......

- You are working on the house batteries and you accidentally swap the battery cables and cause the polarity to reverse.

- There is a malfunction in then charging circuits and it pushes battery voltages over 17 volts.

To me it is one of those things that gets fixed when it can be fixed versus not using it because a potential hazard is imminent.

We just purchased a new 2020 Windsport 34j. It has been a challenge for us to get the warranty repairs done. A recall, timed for storage season is not good news. We have had significant difficulty with the battery/charging systems. 2 brand new batteries ruined and several parts replaced. On the "positive" side, Thor is going to make it right. Provided your coach doesn't burn to the ground.
