Thor Freedom Elite 30 FE - Model Year Question

Hello All,

Just purchased a new Thor Freedom Elite 30 FE, The vehicle appears to be a 2021 but the Dealer titled as a 2020 they said it was between model years. I have the New Ford Chassis with the V8 Engine - The ford Manual says 2021 and the paper work in the coach from Thor said 2021. Any else ever have this issue? If so how did you fix it? or did you?

Thanks,
Larry

It’s not uncommon have a different house year versus the chassis. We have a 30fe and it’s a 2017 house and the chassis is a 2016. It’s also similar to when they change vehicle design on a car. You can have the same year but they look different. For example in 2007 you could buy Silverado in two different body styles they were both new but looked completely different.

It's a 2021. Have the Dealer correct the paperwork
2020 is the year of the chassis. This means nothing in the TV world; as the model year is determined by the coach-builder.

Dealers don't 'title' recreational vehicles, the FACTORY does - and there is no such thing as 'between model years'... it's either a 2020 or a 2021, with the 2021 being the most obvious, if it was just recently built. The FACTORY decides what year will show on the title, not the dealer, not the state, nobody else - the Factory has full authority since it's 'their' RV they built.

Our 30FE is a 2018 but the Ford chassis was built in 2017. The MH is titled and registered as a 2017.
For me, it’s not a big deal. All the Thor paperwork shows the MH was assembled in 2018.

I might have explained to a layperson as
Between model years
because of updated floor plan and chassis versus year model.

Car guys will know 70 1/2 camaro vs 70 firebird and they'll know of the missing year corvette.
It's only uncommon to people who've never before encountered the 'year' thing.

As said above a certificate of origin is the play here. The coach builder is the player.

No one has mentioned yet for you to look at the Vin number. It has no relevance to getting your model year changed but I have to Guess your concern is resale at a later date and the value guide book that will be used.
Vin will come into affect then, not now.
You're not screwed in any way.

Nissan or some fool company came out with(and I'll have these dates wrong) a 2002 model in 1999.

When I registered my manufactured vehicle(like an rv) I could have made it a 1929 Henway or a new model year vehicle or a 2036 Maserati.

a few states will take the stance that the 'vehicle' year model is what they will use for registration/title, but ultimately, regardless, the 'RV' itself is the model year the FACTORY says it is.
Buying or Selling a used RV in these cases would make no difference to me since I don't care really what the 'state' says it is, only what the FACTORY does.

I might have this backwards:
Arizona uses frame info, and Nevada uses body info.
It causes huge havoc on vintage Volkswagen bugs and sand buggies transferring from one to the other state.

Ultimately, the op owns what was bought.
Fighting it is fighting it for the sake of the fight.
