4 6v will give you more battery time. I am going to switch out my 2 12v and buy 4 golf cart batteries. They are the cheapest and most available at Costco

Lifeline batteries
Like Aussie, I chose to go with the Lifeline GPL-6CT's. We had the room so elected to go with 6 of them for a total of 900AH capacity. Our Magnum inverter has the settings for them and will charge at 100A. We have 400W solar on the roof now and plan on adding another 100 this spring. I have been very impressed with these batteries so far.

Reading your setup got me to thinking about how many panels it would require to charge....
I assume you're just using solar to keep your batteries Topped off? Doesn't a 100Watt solar panel charge at about 5 amps... or close. I think to charge a 900 Ah battery in 8 hours it would take over 20 solar panels.
Of course that's assuming you're charging the full 900 Ah which you really can't do with acid/agm batteries so you could likely get by with 10 panels.
BTW: I'm not criticizing your setup just using it to realize..... I don't have nearly enough solar on my RV.

There's an old saying: "Too much: is just enough!"

My 80W panel has shown just over 5 A in bright sun. I’ll probably add a second 80W panel because I already have it, but just the one has kept my batteries topped up in storage just fine.

You're right, my math was wrong; fixed my post.

I don't expect the solar to completely charge the battery bank from 50% to full, just cut down on generator usage. Also, so far we haven't depleted the batteries that far and the panels have charged them up nicely. We will get to do more experimenting when it warms up here a little and we can get the rig out from under the cover again.

Now for new batteries - had 2 liquid 27DC's. Thinking of going to 31AGM's (there is room). Is there anything that needs to be done differently with these batteries? Or do they function the same as liquid cells as fair as charging, inverter, etc.? (2019 Windsport)
Thanks for any advice!

I have a 2018 Windsport 29m and after 3 years I went with Deka AGM's from my local NAPA store. I was not impressed. They never seemed to fully charge AND they did not last as long as the 3 year old batteries the coach came with. NAPA took them back after 2 months, sold me 2 RV & Marine Deep Cycle batteries(Group 27) and refunded me over $230 $$$$. I have ordered the Flow-Rite battery filling system and look forward to installing them next week prior to leaving for Florida Keys in a few weeks!!! Bob Trice

What ever type battery you have be sure the charging profile matches it
I changed the Magnum accordingly per the recommended settings for my AGM's which are Trojans and they have performed significantly better than any flooded cell bank I have ever owned going on three years now. And as a really good thing they still last over night running the fridge and heat as we just returned last week from a winter trip
I have never owned any other 6 volt AGM's so don't know about them but have ran 12v AGM's in all vehicles, including off road and water craft, for years with great results and never a poor one in the lot
