Speaking of...you're from FL. I'm out of NW of Ocala in the rural area toward the pan handle.

Do you know of one of those shops in my area? Some stuff I would like to have done over the winter traveling break. I have a toad so something a 'little' out of the way is not out of the question if need be.

TIA

I don't have any experience with these guys but they are relatively close to you. There reviews on Google (only 16 of them) are very positive.

https://www.rvspecialistfla.com/services

Looks like they can do everything on an RV... Might be worth a call to them at least and maybe ask for a reference or two.

Thanks. Was sort of hoping for your validation. I know of some places on the outskirts of Ocala but not their reputation.

Heard on Fox Business today that Thor's stock is soaring... and they have their highest profit levels in more than two years after their third quarter results.

Stock up over $11 today.... everyone buying RV's.

Now Thor's CEO is about to be on Mad Money with Jim Cramer........

Amazing they were as low as $32 back in March and now $111. I bought a few stocks at their lows in March.... never even considered buying Thor.

I'm glad I bought my Magnitude last October and didn't wait till this year like I was originally thinking.

If sales keep skyrocketing, I may have to think about opening a campground!

Will you keep some sites available for members of this Forum?

(Full hook-ups, and drive-through sites: of course! )

It was getting tougher to get campground spots before COVID. With increased RV sales and a lot of newcomers it might be getting even tougher in a hurry.

You have to think some people are jumping into the deep end and don't know what they are getting into.... and they may be short timers and selling their rigs after a few trips because it's just not for them.

But there will be some people who find they really like the lifestyle and there will be more of us in search of campground.

There might be an opportunity to invest in campgrounds right now. The Thor CEO said there still needs to be more 4-star campgounds but.... there are more people boondocking now too.

I wonder how tough it would be to convert a golf course for our purposes?

A golf course is an interesting idea......

Certainly lots of land and you have to assume some irrigation so there could be plumbing for water... though it might not be potable plumbing components.ably

Probably have a fair amount of excavating to get things somewhat level but many course and very scenic so it could make for a nice campground setting.

Listening to Fox Business.... and they are about to do another story about RV Sales Surging as well as RV Rentals booming. This is the second story I have heard on this subject on Fox Business in the last three weeks plus Jim Cramer's interview with Thor's CEO.

Our little world is going to get crowded in a hurry!

Here are the highlights:

- RV rentals up 1000% since April 1st
- 97% of Summer Travel will be Road Trips

Stuart Varney had the CEO on from Keystone RV (towables) and he said their dealer lot inventory is the lowest it has been in many years. He said while they expected it to be a good year before COVID, they are surprised how much sales are surging.

He also said that while towable sales have been very strong there have been strong sales across all demographics... motorhomes, toy haulers, luxury 5th wheels, etc. are all spiking.

Shoot...
I've got room for five or six campsites in my back yard.
I just need to add some electric, water, and sewer hookup...
$40 bucks a night; with 50% utilization over a 60 day Season...

The other problem with this increase in sales along with overcrowding is that there's a lot folks buying towable RVs that DO NOT have suitable tow vehicles. They also have NO clue as to how to determine the proper weights. With the honesty of salespeople that will swear they "can tow anything on the lot" with their Tacoma or Focus then it's also gonna be a bit scary to be on the highways. The truck/RV manufacturers don't help much either by posting dry RV weights & max towing weights for trucks, both worthless numbers when trying to determine towability.
My signature says "currently rvless" & until this sudden increase in newbies subsides I think I'll remain that way. I'm also figuring by summers end there'll be a flood of used RVs for sale cheap when all these folks figure out it's way more work than they thought.

For sure.... I think a lot of people will underestimate how much work can go into RV'ing or having to deal with draining the tanks, etc. They also won't think about what happens if it rains for 2 or 3 days and you stuck in a small house.

After a couple trips, they will say it was a good experience and hang the for sale sign on them.

The CEO from Keystone did mention the first wave of buyers were people buying towables based on how much their current vehicle could pull. I am sure more than a few sales reps sold them more than their vehicles could handle.

CNBC/Jim Kramer had Winnebago CEO on Mad Money yesterday.
Same positive message as Thor when that CEO was interviewed last week.

I had forgotten that Winnebago purchased Chris Craft Boats in 2018.
They spent some time talking about the boat industry & the company synergy with RVs.
