In fairness to Thor, if reported accurately the rear bed in 18T (pictured above) at 56 inches wide seems adequate for a van camper. By comparison, the bed in 18M is reported significantly narrower at 47 inches. Even so, it’s no worse than 46-inch-wide bed in Winnebago Travato 59G or 59GL; and its narrow bed hasn’t stopped the Winnebago van design from being a huge success.

What would concern me more than bed width are the longitudinal seams in bed under one person. A memory foam bed topper could solve that issue, but is there a good place to carry it?

If you've got the "pop-top" version: just stick it in the overhead...

So who is selling these other than General RV?

They are a convenient size for me as a daily driver.

Informative video review for sure.

A few observations based on review.

Approximately $11k cost for pop-up bed is expensive — more than I would have expected.

Comments about front seats being tall: Rize/Scope don’t use factory swivel option with integrated seatbelts which is pricey. Often when DIY add swivel base, it adds height, which then requires a lower-profile pedestal to compensate; particularly for those with shorter legs. I’d check and or test seats.

Exterior box hanging under A/C area seems low, reducing ground clearance. It’s hard to say from video how low it extends.

Driver-side connections, vents, etc. are quite visible, and not very stealthy as would be ideal in a short van that might see a lot of in-city boondocking. Not that many campers are actually stealthy.

Matt’s comments about bathrooms in Class Bs being next to useless because of their small size should be questioned in light of Matt’s size. Not to be judgmental, but he’s not particularly slim. No doubt most Sprinter and Transit Class Bs have very narrow bathrooms (unless they are across back of coach), but many ProMaster are wider and very useable for thinner adults. Stating that a Class B might as well not have a bathroom because they can’t be used anyway seems like a personal problem of his. Someone half his size may feel differently.

I agree with your comments about Matt's opinions of the water closets in Class Bs...
He's certainly not built like a jockey... but few of us are.
You just learn to adapt to the space that you have.

Y ... I look at those comments and some others in light of his size. (He is very much himself and seems happy with that, which is cool, but it does affect some things.) Being both short and thin, I don't find them uncomfortable and have always found Class B motorhomes appealing. They're not practical at this point for my family, but someday ...

I think I would rather have a smaller bathroom and deal with getting in/out rather than not having one at all. When you have to go, you have to go and you can adapt.

Food for thought on these critters...
While at the Dealership morning: one of the Sales Goobers and I got to talkin'
(Imagine that! )
He said that the Tellaro had lifted one of Hymer's floorplans, and was using it in their new models.
( haven't had the opportunity to check that out yet; but it might just get Chance to pull the trigger!

The Tellaro 20A (or is it 20AT?) does resemble Hymer camper vans; including the Hymer Aktiv 2.0 built during period Hymer owned RoadTrek and prior to Thor ownership of Hymer.

Hymer presently make much shorter camper vans based on the Fiat Ducato (our version is RAM ProMaster) that are similar in length to the new Thor Rize and Scope.

It’s interesting that the shorter 541 cm length (same as Rize/Scope) has a compact wet bathroom which is accomplished by placing the bed “across” the motorhome at the rear.

As reference, here are some other longer floor plans from Hymer in Europe. Two are 20-footers (long wheelbase PM) and one is 21-footer (long wheelbase extended PM).

Winnebago is introducing the Solis Pocket which is a cheaper and smaller version of the Solis, and is a direct competitor to the Rize/Scope 18T floor plan.

It has no bathroom but like Rize/Scope 18T includes storage space for Porta Potti; although it’s accessible from inside van (much better design IMO).

The rear elevated bed plus dinette/couch/bed that sleeps a total of 3 seems much more efficient to me.

And no Bob, I’m not buying one of these either because it’s too small. I do like the efficient use of space, and if they offer longer version with an enclosed bathroom, I’d consider it.

If wanting to compare:

Not sure about that cassette toilet though...
Cassette toilets are soooo much better than conventional toilet with black water tank. I first encountered them about two years ago when we rented a camper in Germany. You can empty it anywhere, at dump stations or any toilette. So much less chance of anything going wrong.

There is a huge difference between Rize/Scope and Pocket. First of, the Pocket MSRP is 12k more, and you don't get the Onan Generator nor a microwave. I do like the Pocket layout better. The PortaPotty is not a problem in my Rize. We do not store it in the rear door compartment as it is way too incovenient. Instead, we bought a collapsible Ottoman on Amazon that fits right over it and we keep it in the coach either toward the back, or at night we move it forward. Problem solved.

La Mesa RV sells them. I really don't think they are usable as a daily driver, at least not for me. Yes, they are extremely maneuverable and fit in any parking space. But they are still very heavy, tall, and suck a lot of gas. My MPG is around 14.
