Time To Put It Away...

The end of our Season has arrived, and we have an appointment with our Dealer on October 23rd; to put our RV into storage.
They will take care of the semi-annual roof inspection (done annually...), Winterize the rig, and take care of the two Tiffin recalls. We have also made arrangements with them to care care of the Mercedes recall as well. They simply have so many more M-B truck dealerships up near them
We are also having them add Max Air vent covers over all three of our roof vents. That's our Christmas present to each other...

That's always a sad day... we store our rig out back, and it's sad seeing her sit out there not being used all winter!

We have one last week-long trip to southern West Virginia in a little over a week. Then it's button up for winter.

Sounds like time to become snowbirds!
I'll wear shorts & tee shirts til about Jan then long pants til about mid Feb, if it's a cold year I may have to put on a sweatshirt for a day or two. That's as close to a winter as I hope to ever be again.

In Florida now so she sits in the driveway, hooked up ready to go 24/7. Have some "Bobble Head Bob" dolls made up and I'll stick one on the dash through the "winter" down here and carry your through.

Do you have them do a full Onan storage on your genny, or do you (or they) exercise it?

I knew you'd find a way to make me laugh!
With Kathy's health in moderately poor shape: we didn't travel at all this year...
But we have two trips planned for 2022!
(God willing...)

Hey Bob

Does Mercedes Benz have the replacement wheel sensors for your Tiffin? I haven't been notified by my dealership yet?

Sad news Bob! Putting the coach to bed is never fun. But spring will be along before you know it.

That's sad news Bob. We are just entering our favorite time of year to camp.

How long will you be down?

So glad I never have to put my RV in storage. I wonder, if it's wrapped up until next April, why not rent when it comes time for a trip?

Ours is never down.
Always fueled, always loaded with food and clothes.
Alexa/echo always on.
We unplug shore power, toss the cord in the bin...back the 24.1 out of the shop. Next stop is destination or 300 miles.

The very MOMENT I put the RV away, if I had to put it away, I'd need it for something.
That's how tractors do it.
And
Boots
And
Tools
And
Year end tax documents.

So sad, but spring is just around the corner.
We're on our last camping trip of the season right now, as I type this. Next weekend or the weekend after I'll winterize...

I'm in Maple Ridge, BC Canada and am winterizing our motorhome next weekend before the temps dip below freezing. Before we moved to a class C this year we had a travel trailer and winterizing involved doing the anti-freeze purge through all the lines. Looking at a Thor video I saw online there is the option to blow out the lines using an air compressor. Is this a better method?

Winterizing the RV means turning the air conditioners off.

Help me because I truly don't understand.

I get why you must winterize, but I don't quite follow why it has to be put up until Spring unless you moving some place else temporarily?

We took the RV (no toad) up winding roads 8,000 feet yesterday in the mountains of Golden CO just to go hiking on real trails.

At our State Park campsite RVs are a plenty fully booked although we only reserved 2 weeks ago ; but point is most have not winterized yet. It got down to 41 last night and I did not even run the heater. It should get to 39 tonight but I don't plan to run the heater unless truly emergency we camping @ 6,000ft. My propane tank is 3/4 full despite running the fridge last several days, when otherwise not using Inverter.

When we do winterized, we will still use the RV but travel with Fresh water and holding tanks EMPTY if traveling where freeze is reasonably expected. Not a big deal. We will travel someplace Thanksgiving & Christmas. What about all of the football tailgate parties I actually plan to winterize my coach 3 - 4 times per winter if necessary depending upon travel destinations. But put it up
