Toad protector

We are towing a 2007 Wrangler Jeep with a blue ox tow bar. I would like to know what people prefer for protecting the toad. A screen or a hard shield

2010 Wrangler here with Roadmaster tow equipment.. I use nothing special as far as rock shield and have seen no issues with anything hitting the Jeep...

Perhaps a difference to note - Wranglers sit at many different heights... My baseplate connection with crossbar in place is at the bottom of the bumper - and that is perfectly level without any drop/rise adapter with the receiver on my Hurricane... I expect anything kicked up from the RV is caught by the normal mudflaps (no full width add on) - or goes UNDER the Jeep.

Might be a different answer if your Wrangler sits lower relative to the MH.

I towed my Jeep Wrangler for years with no shield and no damage. Between the coach mud flaps and the height of a Jeep I personally don't think you need one. If you were towing something low like a Honda Accord it might be different.

Or a Chevy Sonic. Had a rock crack my Sonic's windshield over the July 4th outing. I had bought some add-on mudflaps before the trip but when looking at installing them it seemed they really wouldn't provide any more protection than the OEM mudflaps.

So today I am building a home made version of this:

Using PVC pipe and shade cloth.

I have no experience...but I have read anecdotal evidence that points to these horizontal skirts like that being the way to go.
The curtains or brushes that hand down seem to actually kick up more stuff....

Could probably also use landscapers cloth for that--its pretty cheap.

I've seen a number of people recommend this.

Haven't used anything, haven't had any problems. Factory mud flaps seem to work ok.

We've used a Protect-A-Tow skirt from the RV to our small sports car for the last 10 years. Snap to put on and easy to store.

With a Jeep that sits higher, it probably wouldn't help all that much. If the Jeep is new, and you plan to tow for a long time, it might be worth considering
