Transmission issue?

I pulled off the doghouse to put some sound deadening insulation in our 2016 Windsport today and noticed some fluid on the top side of the transmission. Looked like it had been there a while and possibly from different times. See picture.

It looks like it is coming out of something that looks like it could be a solenoid. Sorry I didn't take more pictures. Is this an issue? We only have 12,000 miles on the coach.

I know it looks like a lot fluid but unless you have a pool of it we can't see, that's less than a teaspoon. Oil based fluids spread themselves pretty thin.

It's just me, and I'm not one to fret much, but I'd wait until it's spotting the ground or smells of burnt fluids.

It isn't a thing.

I agree: it's likely not a big deal.
But you could show that picture to your mechanic, and see what he thinks of it.

How are the fluid levels? If they are in the safe range, forget about it until it's marking it's spot.

I would say as long the levels are good and what was said earlier you aren’t pooling oil somewhere you are fine. Look under and brand new car that’s been on the road and you will find oil. It may not even be from your vehicle. While driving a lot of junk gets thrown up. My 2012 Silverado has oil on the bottom of the oil pan and it’s never leaked.

Looks like normal leakage from the vent. Transmission fluid expands when it gets hot and it has to go somewhere. As long as the dip stick level is where it is supposed to be based on a hot or cold transmission don't worry about it.

Here's mine after 72,000 miles, 16 camping seasons and three fluid changes.

I can't tell from the picture. It's too small for me to see well enough. I tried to expand it with one of my photo apps but I still can't see it well enough. I can't tell if there are wires hooked to it or not.
If it is just a vent, then I wouldn't worry about it.
If that is a solenoid or some type of sensor, it shouldn't be leaking. It could be as simple as a leaking O-Ring or seal where it is attached to the transmission.
It could also be an internal seal inside the solenoid or sensor "if that's what it is" that has lost its integrity which could cause a problem.

As far as the leakage amount, that's not bad at all.

Yeah, the OP's picture is only 229x237, hardly big enough for a thumbnail nowadays.
