Turn Off Winegard Router

Hurricane 33X there is no on/off switch in the MH that I can find, the cable/air plate is just that.

I just want to turn off the router and on when I need it. (I got a T mobile 5G hot spot since camp sites wi-fi is terrible), winegard is not 5G compatible they are working on one! so can't just add sim card to the roof unit. you can reset and reboot wingard 2.0 from the App but not turn it off, this seems to be hard wired anyone know.

anyone else care !!

If I remember correctly you can switch it off in the Winegard app. We stopped using ours when we found using our phone hotspot was FAR cheaper, and worked just as well.

I'll check it...

There's nothing in the app I can find to power it off. I believe ours is wired straight to 12volt with no switch. Here's the pic from the manual how ours is wired. I have it in settings not connected to anything. Since I leave the battery disconnect switch off here at home, it is off... otherwise it's on all the time.

One of those little irritating things I'll eventually get around to changing... add a simple toggle switch.

Of course you could simply remove the 3A fuse...

Thor hardwired the early coaches when they started including the Winegard ConnecT 2. Winegard does have a switch where the untit can be completely powered down. Thor then started including the switch eventually.

Some people on here have added the switch. It may or may not be easy depending on how and where they ran the power wire.

Stick you sim in the unit and turn the coach power off for a few seconds and it will reboot and be ready to be setup. I use a T-Mobile sim and data plan and it works pretty well.

The app or access via a web browser will let you reboot the unit when installing a new SIM without power cycling the unit.

there should be a push button near a green led. if green light is on the wineguard is working. Push the button light goes out and winegard is off. You need to do this also if you connect to a RV site cable. Ours is in the forward cabinet above the drivers side of windshield. I emailed Winegard customer service couple times and they helped me. They would not know where Thor pace the on off button.

Sim in unit on the roof is easy , Its not 5G Compatible with 5G I am getting 25 meg downloads speeds. T-mob has good 5G coverage where I have been so far. plus unit is free you can freeze it 100gig plan. only way so far is to remove the 5 Amp fuse in bay 4 under the bed next to house breakers.

No kidding? So the other thing to try is on the app: when selecting the internet source there are 3 choices: 4G, Wi-Fi, no internet

No Internet Option does NOT turn off the router, basically the same as no source ,,

Per Thor

I have a 2020 Miramar 37.1 and needed to "reset my winegard and was looking for the switch described in the manual. Thor informed me that the only switch is the main ON/OFF for the coach.

Switching to a different WIFI will effectively stop the use of the winegard router. I do this all the time - use RV Park WiFi when I can and the winegrad when I want secure WiFi

I had the same problem on my ACE 27.2. I figured out which fuse it was on by removing one fuse at a time and watching it in the internet settings on my phone until the Winegard was no longer active. It was on the LP Detector fuse. I moved the wire for the Winegard which was spliced behind the box to the Audio Video fuse, because you should never have anything else on the LP Detector fuse, and I added a switch next to the fuse box. It does also turn off the TV antenna amplifier because of how they have it wired.in .

Mine has an on/off switch on the wall. But it isn’t a Thor product. It certainly would be easy to add a switch if turning it off is something you’ll often want to do.
