Need advice on satelite/cable

Afternoon Everyone,

Looking for advice on what most Thor owners feel is the best Satelite device to use to get TV/Internet/Cable?
I have been reading about ROKU for home use does anyone know if that can be used in Motor coach?

Roku/Apple TV/Chromecast/etc. devices simply stream TV off the internet. As such you could/can use it provided you have a way to get internet to it.
Thus you need a hotspot to provide internet or hook to a given campground's WiFi.

So far, in our experience, None of the campground's we've ever been to has offered adequate WiFi internet speeds (its like they get normal residential service and expect that to work for 200+ campers).

Thus your best bet is to get a hotspot (either by sharing your phone's or tablet's internet access or by getting a specific hotspot device).

Thank you, do you think that the dish Satelite that they sell at Camping world would be good or do you have a favorite?

I have a Winegard Carryout. I bought it because it can feed two separate receivers (both must be viewing from the same satellite). The other thing I like about the Carryout is that it will work for Dish or Direct service. Not stuck with just Dish. The thing I don't like about the Carryout is that it has to have a power cable running out to the dish. The Tailgater does not need the power cable.

One quick note, if I have not used it for a month I will set it up over night at the house, that way when we arrive t the campground we have full service

I have the Wineguard Traveler. Push one button, for set up, and has an excellent picture. Mine is for Dish Network.

One plus for Dish Network you can buy the service one month at a time. So if you store the RV for the winter, you don't pay for the service for those months.

Thank you all for your advice . Seems you all basically agree which is very helpful. Looking forward to our upcoming trip to Vermont in October for Apple Picking . It will only be our second adventure , but I'm excited. May have to hold off on the Satellite until we save $$ for it. DVD's for now.
