Safety plus stabilizer for Axis 24.1

We have just taken delivery of a 2016 Axis 24.1...my husband is wary of the sloppy steering...lane drift with side winds and especially when a large truck goes by...he white knuckled it today on the freeway...we were advised having the Safe T Plus stabilizer installed to help with this...any information or advice would be appreciated...our previous RV a Gulfstream BT Cruiser didn't have these issues...did we make a mistake? Thank you.

The 1st things to try are having an alignment, then adjusting the tire pressure according to the actual weight being carried.

On our 24.1 it drove fine by itself, but sway from passing trucks and gusts of wind were amplified while towing our Honda CRV. We just had front and rear sway bars and a Safe-T-Bar installed at the dealer. The technicians were blown away by the difference and I could drive one-handed on the freeway on the way home (not that anybody would do that)

Safe t plus

I had my 2015 Axis 24.1 aligned at a front end specialty truck shop.I run 80 lbs in all of my tires and installed a Safe-t -plus.It now drives very nicely. It took some getting used to driving it after owning a Roadtrek Class B,but I now find that I like driving it better than the B.There are other mods you can make if you find it necessary that you will find on the forums.Good luck with your new toy!

What I need to know is which model of the Safe T Plus Stabilizer should we order to install on our 2016 Thor Axis 24.1 on a Ford E450 super duty chassis. We want Camping World to install but there seems to be some confusion as to which model to be installed. Thanks

I just installed one on my 2016 E-450.

Used their guide:
http://www.safe-t-plus.com/media/stp...ssis_guide.pdf

31-140
E353K14

Not hard to install your self if you have a torque wench.

when you call safe t plus you can also ask them about dealers and installers in you area.I wouldn't be too thrilled about using Camping World unless you know that a good tech will be doing the work.P.S. I got my safe t plus for 150.00 less than CW sells for by using Safe t plus recommended dealer!

Have to second these comments. Alignment first, before you rush to spend for the add-ons. The pros that aligned my Vegas 25.2 told me they didn't think the Safety Plus would make a noticeable difference. Read that little sticker by the driver's seat, it says to have the alignment checked with a normal load and inflation.
Happy camping!

I had one installed by the shop that did my first alignment. I believe it was worth the investment. Much more stable on the road and I was impressed with the company's video showing what would happen or not happen in the event of a blowout. There is a specific application for the E450 along with an installation kit.

Anybody know the differences between the Safety Plus Stablizer and the cheaper Roadmaster version? There's a couple hundred bucks difference in the two. Anyone with experience with these... is one better than the other for any particular reason? Would love feed back on this.

Thor is paying for your alignment? Congratulations. Most of us were not so fortunate.

I had an alignment and week later had a Safe-t-plus put on. I mentioned this before but after meeting Earl near Salton Sea, my wife and I hit high winds in the San Gregorian Pass and I passed a DP who got whipped hard to the side. It was not fun but the Safe-t-plus bar helped alot. The bar uses a rear bolt on a bracket (left side / passenger side) which you need a impact wrench which was mentioned above. The others just a torque wrench.

Before. And try it out before getting the Safe-T-Plus. For a few folks that was all they needed. With the bar is also alot less fatiguing on trips IMHO. Do a search on Safe-t-plus and read the treads.
