upgrade 16" rim to 18 or 19" rim

I just got 2020 thor axis 24.1 and it has very small rims 16". can I upgrade to bigger rims?

Typically on vehicles larger wheels will improve handling due to changing the aspect ratio. The shorter the sidewall the less flex. The downside typically is because the tire has less flex the ride gets worse. You can do things to improve that. You may not notice the difference in how rough it rides but you should notice the handling improve.

It's been done, and wheel wells cut to accept the bigger rims and tires.

Are you planning to keep the overall circumference the same? You can use bigger wheels with “skinnier” tires (changed aspect ratio). Or do you just want everything bigger? As mentioned, it’s been done, but my personal opinion (which nobody asked for...!) is that the benefits, will be few, the complications real and the expense considerable and, all in all, not worth it. It if you do it please report back with your results and opinions. It certainly would be an interesting project.

What ever size you choose, make sure you get the whole wheel, not just the rim of the wheel.

Not only the up front cost. The recurring cost of new tire. Just upgrade to Michelin tires. I have a 2018 Vegas 27.7. I did several thing to improve the drive and ride of my unit. The single biggest change and the final thing needed to accomplish what i wanted was those tires. Also the larger wheels add weight.

Does anyone know if a larger circumference tire will affect the fuel economy? I'm trying to get the RPMs at 70 miles an hour on or below 2000. Every vehicle I own except for this Vegas will run on or below 2000 RPMs at 70 mph. Has anyone else out there tried to reduce the RPMs of the vehicle through this means or any other?

Well there’s a reason it’s geared for higher RPM. It’s a big, heavy, unaerodynamic truck. It takes a considerable amount of power to keep it moving at speed and, as a general rule getting that power needs RPM. You probably could bring the RPM down by various means but you might not like the performance and you’d be badly lugging the engine just driving down the road.

Tires are a miniscule part due to the restrictions of size we have.
Differential gearing is what you're after for a greater ratio change.
A final drive ratio is what changes rpm.

Unless you live in Kansas or some flat spot,
Different ratio will eat up your savings on the big hills.
A downshift you didn't have before.

And
Use the wrong final ratio and you'll have the dreaded 'hunt and peck' transmission trying to find a spot it likes.
Below 2,000 rpm might not be a mpg good thing.

Everyone thinks of doing the ratio change with tires or gears but it's an expensive science.
I changed to taller tires on my expeditionary vehicle, then had to change gear ratios so the rpms would stay below 3,000 when on any slope. There was no gear induced torque to keep the tires turning, so I had downshifts.
27" to 31" tires required 3.73 to 4.10 gears to make up for the extra rolling length/lack of torque in the 31's.

Thanks guys for your kind response. I live in Florida. I have super charged half the vehicles I own including my boat. That was a difference I wasn't ready for but was quite pleased with. Has anyone tried any other ways with positive results?

On the interwebs I can only find one instance of a dual turbo on a v10.
No supercharger info that can be trusted. I thought of a paxton/mculloch type belt drive, but no one seems interested and I'll need remapped and all the happy horsecrap that goes with it.
Someone here said banks made a set up, when questioned, we got crickets.
Banks makes some headers and cat back and other silliness adding 20hp or so under lab conditions.
We, as a group, have pretty well shot up the five star computer upgrades as just so much hooie for a six speed v10.

If you find anything viable let me know here or through pm.
I'll experiment if it's the right installer.
I'm not a turbo fan because of the Mohave desert we frequent. Old school thinking perhaps but I don't need 750° recirculating under a plywood firewall.

I'm hoping(not for me, I'm married to this rv) Ford will mirror 5.0 aftermarket and upgrade.s on the new v8.

I have two potential powerhouses which aftermarket and maker ignored.
My beloved 8.1L avalanche and now this ignored v10.

Pulled the 454s out of my Searay and replaced them with 350s and pro charger super chargers. Did not change the wheels or the pitch. The gallons per mile and the performance difference was amazing. Didn't know if someone had tried this with the v10 or not. I don't mean removing the V 10 I mean Charging it. My Saleen makes 550 hp from the factory and gets 20 miles per gallon. Love my Ford V 10 so just thinking of ways to make it possibly more efficient.

The first time that v10 of mine so much as farts cross-wise it'll be a 5.0 coyote or if the new v8 can pump 600hp then the new v8.
