I am new to the forum. My wife and I are looking at a 1998 Wanderer Lite 19'.
Seller claims that it is in excellent condition. Tires and batteries one year old. Asking price is $5500.00.
Trailer is 150 miles away so we have not looked at it yet. Does this seem like a reasonable price? If not, any suggestions?
Hi, and welcome to the forum.
I would suggest you go to the NADA link and check out what they are stating for a value on the rig you are looking at. http://www.nadaguides.com/RVs
If you intend to pursue it, I would then recommend you go over it with a fine tooth comb. Make the seller demonstrate to you that "everything works".
Remember, when you give him the money, you are going to own it. Good or bad.
there are 3 wanderer lite TT listed on nada for that year, all list at 24' but research on google shows that your 19' TT you are talking about is a 19' box so 24' wouldn't be far off total length. The 3 listed wanderer liters show nada low retail of around $2600 and average retail at or below $3300. So it looks like $5500 is way over priced, which was my gut instinct for that size and age.
With any used trailer you need to check for cracks in caulking, roof, leaks anywhere and everywhere (especially in those dark hard to see places), look for soft pots, mold etc. Have them show you everything works on and off shore power. Check out every system carefully.
