VEGAS windshield wiper function

My wiper blades tangled up with each other on my last trip. The clearance is extremely limited and I am concerned with them doing it again. Is there a way to increase the clearance between the wipers? Also they leave quite an area not cleared towards the windshield post. That blind spot is big enough without leaving another 12 inches not cleared.

Unless things have changed the wiper post is splined and you can pull the whole arm off and rotate it to pick up another spline.

I had the same issue. It is easier (and may be required) to use a small wheel puller to get them off the spline. Wheel pullers are cheap and available at any autoparts store.

Thanks. There is a nut under the wiper arm. Does it need to be loosened or is the entire fitting friction?
