Washer/dryer in bedroom?

We are looking to get a larger MH with a washer/ dryer. My DW has a cancern that if it is in the bedroom it will make it to damp from the moisture from the washer. Does anyone on here have their washer/dryer in the bedroom? If so, do you see any problems with moisture in the bedroom? Finding a floor plan with it in the bathroom cuts down a lot of options.

Take a look at the Thor Miramar 32.2. The washer/dryer is just outside of the bedroom and across the hall from the bathroom. I know someone with this floorplan and their opinion is it's the perfect place for them.

I have a Challenger 37TB with the washer/dryer combo in the bedroom. I went with the vented washer/dryer so any moisture goes outside when the dryer is running. No issues whatsoever. Installing the vent thru an exterior wall is well worth the effort you just need to make sure you are between wall studs before you cut a hole for the exterior vent. I heard thru reviews that the ventless washer/dryer combos take forever to dry clothes.

We have had he 37TB with the vented Splendix w/d for the past 2.5 years and love it! No problems with moisture- zero, nada, zilch, zip. We often run 2 loads ok f wash each day when the grands are traveling with us.

I live vicariously through the experience of others...
My Missus is still too young and pretty; to be sleeping with anybody's Grandpa!

We had a w/d in our last coach and wondered how much we would miss it. That was something we had to give up to go to a smaller coach.

We had no problems with moisture, but found the dryer to be painfully slow, since it runs on 110v. We found that and small loads limiting. Now we are back at the laundromat weekly when we travel, and it's all done in a couple of hours while enjoying a good book.

That's the experience of a "seasoned" couple. Your results will vary.

Yep - Mr Sunshine is correct. Drying is slow. DW points it out frequently but the convenience when we have the grands with us, out weighs the dry time. For us, the all is one is great. Start and forget it until you need to restart the dryer to finish the drying.

PS: On the days bedding gets done, we will use a coin operated machine. It's just a little bit too heavy a load to do 3 sets of sheets and pillow cases.

Thanks for the responses. I think this will make my DW feel better about the floor planes that have the washer/dryer in the bedroom.

Hello, I have a Challenger 37TB and I am super interested on installing a vented washer/dryer. Which model did you do and can you send a picture of what it looks like outside where the vent was installed?

Many thanks,

Charles B

It's the Missus!

She's standing behind me: isn't she?

Our Challenger 37 ND had the washer and dryer hookups, to include vent, behind the wall in a cabinet in the bedroom. The back panel unscrewed to access the water lines, drain and vent.

Doesn't you challenger have the same?

We no longer have that rig so I cannot take pictures.

Our Aria's W/D is just forward of the bunkhouse and mid-bath, next to the fridge.

Yes. When you remove panel all is there. My big debate is which model D/W works best and if I rather go vented. I would like to see what it looks like before I punch a hole in the side of the Motorhome. However, no one has been able to provide me a picture of what it looks like so I can make a decision.
