I could go on and on but it would probably scare some here. I'm the guy you want to get stuck with if the train take a dirt road. There's so many ways to "micro size" this program for the campers. Only you are the one that's gonna look after you if things got "unpleasant". The inline filters are great but do not filter out the scary stuff. I'm real picky about what goes in the tank, thus why I keep it full all the time.

And I thought I was OCD.

Scared might be fun to watch, lol... I'm always in favor of preparing for the very worse while hoping/praying for the best - it's worked well for me

Gritz and I think a lot alike. If you've ever been in any situation where you NEEDED water you'll never allow yourself to be in that situation again. Any vets out there?

If the weight of a full water tank is a problem you have too much crap in the rig. If you break down in a remote place 6 bicycles, 2 ladders, 3 grills and 12 strings of flamingo patio lights ain't gonna be any help.

Before a trip...Water, propane, and gas tanks should be full. Waste tanks near empty. An RV is self-sufficient only if you habe it stocked appropriately. We also carry bottled water, those emergency food buckets, and a water filter. Rule of Three!!

Jan 2010... had a rain that turned cold, froze and snapped the power poles in a 75 mile radius of where I lived, NO power anywhere, even the traffic signals, Walmart, gas stations, nothing. I set up my generators for the refer, inside lights, propane heaters and camp lanterns, stoves, flashlites, candles, spare gas cans... etc. After 10 days of boredom reading books the power came back on. Now we have enough 'Stuff' (propane, matches, food, water, medical, booze, spare batteries) all together for 30 days if you count what's in our POVS and the RV. And every year it hasn't happened again. Even did all the 'what ifs' if this or that didn't work and stuffed a couple of pill bottles with quarters, 1s, 5s,10s and 20s. Spare everything.

We don't get any decent snowfall here to speak of. But what we do get is ice storms and tornadoes. Power can be out for days. Our RV has always been the refuge. Has water and food and supplies to last until the power is back on.

A few years back I saw the forecast and parked the rig at the house. During the night we lose power. Used up the hot water in the tank for showers moved into the RV until we saw lights again. If I am gonna pay for a second house I'm gonna use it like one.

Because the water down here in Pamlico is so full of chemicals I leave with ALL tanks empty and fill the water tank to 2/3 at the first inland campground or state/federal park I come too. Ain't saying it's bad but unless I'm washing the vehicles weekly it is seldom my water bill goes over 800 gallons a month.

And, the MREs Soldier Girl referred to are no where as good as the good ol' C--rations we got in RVN. Ham and limas were great - especially if you used the enclosed mini-bottle of Louisiana's "finest" to "doctor" them. I almost always traded my pork slices 'cause they had more salt than is in the Pacific Ocean.

If you weren't a smoker you could trade the little pack of cigarettes for one of the other guys chocolates. Still have my steel P-38 can opener on my key chain.
