Water valve problem

Running into a slight problem with our Miramar 34.2, when our water works dial is turned to city connection, water continues to flow into the fresh water tank while also preforming correctly in the coach. Not at full force, but it is flowing around the valve. The dial handle is not on backwards and I understand what is happening as to the water not being tightly stopped when turned to the next position. I will replace this when I return home, just wondering if anyone has had this problem and what if anything they did that may have corrected the problem immediately. Thanks for any advice.

There is a check valve in the water pump that controls the back flow from the city water into the fresh water tank.

First disconnect the city water and run the pump for a couple of minutes.

If that doesn't clear the issue, you need a new check valve.

I did have this issue once with my Miramar. I turned the valve back and forth several times and whatever was causing the problem went away. I figured it must have been something caught in the valve... causing it to stick. Anyway, it's been over a year and never happened again.

While we're on the subject, is your pointy switch hard to turn, like super stiff, like almost takes 2 hands to turn 'cause mine is, even after it was fixed for being leaky.

Yes...mine is difficult to initially move. The first time I moved it I thought it was stuck. I guess that means it is tight...probably a good thing. I don't use it to fill the tank any more...it just is much faster with the gravity fill.

Correct, also gravity fill will fill the tanks from above, when that side fill hits a point and depending, may stop filling because of lack of pressure.

I have a new Thor Aria 3901 and it came with a bad valve. It has never filled the tank using the fill setting. Took it to a dealer to fix and they tried but it still does it. Going back to another dealer to replace the valve.

Contacted Anderson Brass Company and described the problem, they advised it was a bad valve stem. Ordered a new stem for $36.00, company sent me this video on how to change it.
