Weight limit for roof of 2017 ace 30.2

Wanting to get on top of our MC to clean and inspect vents, seals etc. I'm wondering what the limits were? In not a small feller at 300lbs and I don't want to damage anything..

thanks

I doubt you will get a specific answer. I asked the same thing on our coach, Thor customer service said you can walk on the roof but be careful and it's not designed for constant use in that manner...

I'm about #270. I've walked on our roof, staying away from openings and generally hanging out near the edge where there is likely more support (but a more skeeery ;-)

When I was removing vents to install fans I did the work laying down on a blanket. If I have to kneel for a while I'll place a blanket down with a 3' square of 1/2-3/4" thick plywood to spread the load (+ knee padding of some sort of course).

So far I haven't had any issues.. I try to avoid getting on the roof if I can ;-)

Thanks for the feedback.. We are new to the MC world and still trying to find our way through all the stuff to keep up with. I noticed the roof needed a good scrubbing at the very least, but I held back for fear of causing damage.. And your right on not getting a solid answer. i had a feller tell me it was good for 500lbs. I sort of had my doubts, but didnt say so..

How you getting up there? The attached ladder is probably not rated for 300 lbs.

If you use a stand-alone ladder, use 2' X 4' piece of 1/2" plywood (or 2) to stand on and you'll probably be OK, especially at the edges.

I have a 12ft ladder that I leaned against the body at the rear of the couch.. and yep, figured I should add some cushion and I tied it off to the factory ladder.. It didn't take but a shake or two to figure that the factory ladder wasn't a option.. LOL

I crawled up to take a look at what I had, but stopped short of getting on the roof.

When I’m on my roof (215 lbs), I can make out where the cross members are. I wash the roof with a brush 5 or 6 times a year. Have never felt much “give”. However, I use a stand alone 10’ A frame ladder. I don’t trust the Thor folks to have installed the ladder into anything other than plywood/fiberglass.
