Everyone needs a little rain shower now and then. Be safe... and hope you put Eternabond on your RV roof!

If you get heavy rains, the worse may be yet to come especially if your area is flood prone. The Alligators can get turnaround out of their habitats. I would postpone any oil changes or bottom of RV work for a few weeks.

Of course!
Steady wind and rain with minor gusts so far. No power or internet issues. The MH lifeboat is gassed up and full of water but I doubt we[ll need it. Looks like we're about halfway through it at this point - day long event.

The storm has slowed down in forward movement and we are getting some stronger gusts now. I just had a tree come down in the back yard. Guess I better tune-up the chainsaw.

It's all over but the shouting now.
Still some wind and minor gusts - that'll go on at least another day.
Rain is spotty drizzle - not much rain on the SW side of the storm but there was between 10" to 15" around Lake City, FL - our rain gauge overflowed at 8".
Never lost power or internet, flooding was surprisingly minor - we've had much worse.
Our backyard tree was the biggest I saw down. A couple of smaller trees nearby had snapped trunks and major branches but mostly the debris consists of smaller branches and leaves.
Now for the clean-up which for me won't start in earnest for over two weeks as I have to work every day, all day, until after our primary election on August 20. So much for being retired.

Reminds me of a thought we recently had about EV vehicles. The wife and I are fans of hybrid vehicles but can't warm up to EV's. Our recent cold winter brought out a few problems with EV's like; they don't charge efficiently in cold weather and you need to heat them using up precious battery power. The wife pointed out that if you lived somewhere like Florida and had to evacuate because of a storm you could have a problem if your EV was stuck in a half day backup on the interstate. Think about being stuck in one of those back ups in the hot humid Florida weather and you have to keep the AC turned off to save battery power.

On our 3rd EV now, and not going back to gas- and live in cold Vermont.
1st EV had 83 mile range, so not very practical by itself- had to have 2nd gas car, or hybrid instead of the two.
- 2nd-3rd EVs had 250 mile range- no 2nd gas car any more- plenty of range now. (winter 180 miles, summer 300+ miles)
- I can precondition while plugged in- cold or hot weather, AC or heater. Keeps battery topped off. I can also maintain the heater or AC for 30 min. while shopping.
- If stuck in traffic, can stay there longer than gas car b/c it doesn't overheat, but range can be affected by heat off pavement by 30-40% if in the 90-100° range. We've had to sit in long lines, and can relax- had our diesel car gel up a few times, and was most unpleasant- -30F and windy. EVs don't like that either- so best to just stay home when it's that cold!!
Bottom line is people like us can use a 250 mile EV daily and no worries- always topped off, and lots of range. No maintenance and 2000 less moving parts. Travelling long distance, we use the RV.
Once battery tech (changes daily) goes solid state, and RVs can be powered by them, and have 300-500 mile range, and have 10min charging, then the game will change. I hope to see it happen before too long- age is not waiting...

Excellent point!
Lora & I saw the EV scam years ago.
Imagine us being from Montana having an EV?

I didn’t have any trees down but plenty of branches to clean up. I returned Saturday just in time for Debby. Left the MH loaded and ready to go. Thankfully, everything turned out ok.
