The Missus jumps out, and heads for the store: I fear that SGD may be in trouble...
So I follow at a discreet distance: hoping to not get caught up in the crossfire. As I get within sight of the Service Desk: she's in tears, and SGD looks as if he wants to join her.
figuring that he is safe: I head for the Service Bay.
(This is the place where they don't allow customers...)
I storm in, and see three guys: one of them has a clipboard.
"Are YOU in charge?!?", I growl...
The "Clipboard Guy" (CBG) says that he is.
"Good! Come with me!"
"Sir: I can't come with you. I have a full schedule, and have no time.."
"WHAT did you say? First: I ain't a Sir, because this isn't going to be gentlemanly... My rig is busted, you b@st@rds have dont nothing to fix it in the last six Months, and and my Missus is gonna snap, and kill somebody out front. Let's go!"

He starts to squeak like a dog's chew toy...
"I don't have anyone here to look at your rig right now..."
I step up REAL close to him, and start stabbing his clipboard with my index finger...
"You're not hearing me; Slick! My rig is coming home today, or you'll be keeping it forever! My Missus is out front, and she ain't happy; not one damn bit!
I think that CBG peed himself a little bit at about this time...
figuring that it's useless to argue with a vegetable: I spun, and headed back out to the Service Desk...
Only the Missus wasn't there! I spotted her heading toward "Mickey": our original salesman
"This can't be good", I thought to myself. I figured that I'd better catch her, before somebody called the Cops on us!
By the time I caught her: she had already caught Mickey. The long, sad tale was told to him: replete with all the tears that she had.
To his credit: Mickey gave her a hug, and said that "Sales Manager Mike" (SMM) had just come in, and he'd go get him for us.
Mickey came back with SMM in tow. The both got the entire story again; but without the tears. This time it ended with me demanding a $96,000 refund check
Now: I think that SMM is gonna cry.
"It's not that simple..."
"Why not? It was simple for you to cash MY check!"
SMM says that we all should go look at the rig...

As we step outside: SMM mentions that he wondered why that rig was there... it was blocking everything up! ( I thought that the Missus was gonna deck him!)
As we step inside: she starts pointing out the dirt, and debris.... SMM just starts shaking his head.
When we get to the footprints on the wall: I sort of mention how completely unacceptable this is... with some of my better cuss-words thrown in to flavor things a bit!
He turns white! I thought that he might pass out... He says that he'll be right back, and he leaves...
All of the sudden: a new player enters the fray... "Master Technician Allen" (MTA) has arrived. SGD put out a "call to arms for anyone in the area who could help, and MTA answered his plea...
"What seems to be the trouble?", he asks with a big smile.
Before the Missus could get going: I jumped in with a quick description of what wasn't working, and what we were seeing.
The list read like this:
The slide wasn't... sliding!
The refrigerator had power; but no cold! (I forgot to mention that one...)
We still hadn't any proof that the hot water system was functioning.

"I'll get right on it", was his reply.

In the meantime: SMM had found some poor kid who must have been sleeping in a closet somewhere. They were heading back toward us with a sweeper, a broom, lots of chemicals, and s shopping cart full of chamois cloths...

The Missus just about took the kid by the ear, and showed him the footprints on the wall..
he almost said "holy crap!", but the language was actually a bit stronger than that...
SMM was sweeping, the kid was wiping, and the Missus was starting to breathe again... I thought that I might actually survive the day!
MTA stuck his head in the door, and said that it was time to test the slide...
He hit the button...
Birds started singing, the clouds parted... the Sun was shining...
...and the slide was moving!! It was glorious!
It was a low-voltage condition brought ob by some loose connections.
The refrigerator was next...
He bled the propane lines, and we had enough cold to make January jealous!
(I think the Missus was growing a major crush on the guy...)
Hot water? He said that he'd pull the rig out back, and fill it with water, and let us know what happens.
We went back inside, and waited for about 10 minutes... MTA sticks his head in the door, and motions for me to come on out...
When I get in the rig: he says that they never de-winterized the rig... but that he had just done that for us. He turns on the sink, and I can feel the water get warmer, as he hits buttons on the panel that controls it...

By the time it was 10:00am: the Missus was happy enough for me to drive the rig home!

The end...

Since you got Thor involved last time you should report back to them the results of their "pressure" on the dealership to fix it right. Then ask them if they have any competent service centers in your area.

Bob,

Congrats to you and the Missus for rescuing your rig. Thats a great story for nights around a camp fire. Next comes the Happy Ending driving off into the sunset.

Good grief, over six months in the shop. You are a much better sport about that, then I would be.

Truthfully: I feel a bit like I've been used as a tackling dummy, by the biggest defensive linesmen on the Planet...

Glad you got the coach back and can at least use it! Maybe someday, you will be sitting around a fire with a few cold ones and start a story by saying "Remember when we took that old Outlaw to Camping World for service?"
