What’s this wad of wires under radio

Just purchased a like new 2016 Hurricane 32n. Dash has all these loose wires hanging, even looks like small microphone attached. Previous owner said, Camping World dealer just told him, that for the radio.
Can’t believe a wad of wires is normal assembly practice.
Anyone know what’s normal for this?

Thanks! KC

Welcome to the Forum!
That looks a bit "unusual"; but it's probably not too far from what passes as a "norbal" construction practice...

A little hard to tell from the picture, but if there's a microphone it's likely for hands-free phone or voice control of various functions - - GPS, radio controls, etc.

The rest of that stuff ? No clue.

Lol! When troubleshooting why my led awning lights didn’t have power... and to find the inline fuse holder behind the toggle switch panel, which BTW isn’t even mentioned in the owners manual , I knew this beast is going to be a hide and seek challenge .. lol

I thought the same about the microphone, however it’s on a 12” wire.
To be located that far away from voice sound, makes it useless while driving. Too much road noise for it to pickup

Get them off the line, and let the warranty folks worry about them...

I can't tell for certain by the photo, but it looks very similar to the SiriusXM converter that I have in my 2015 Windsport. I added it as I have a subscription to SiriusXM, and it makes the built-in radio work with it. If that's it, it plugs into the back of the radio and a satellite radio antenna connects to the box.

Of course, you need to have a subscription with SiriusXM for it to work, and if you don't have a subscription then you don't need the box.

Let us know of any markings on the box. By the way, it can be neatly mounted behind the dash (as I did) so you aren't seeing those messy wires!

Best I can tell, it’s just the wiring harness for the camera system which goes to radio.
Cannot believe this box was not mounted.. there is room to tuck, but it’s extremely tight.
There’s no mention of Sirus ,on radio.. I wish it did !

That wad of wires is VERY normal for Thor products. Wait until you look under the bed!
And that microphone looking thing....it may just be your GPS antennae.

Those wires probably belong to one of the salesgoobers that used it last weekend and forgot to remove them. Believe it or not...more new RV's go out "on vacation" before they are sold than you would think.

I’m pretty sure that microphone has something to do with the karaoke for the shower ...

I’m amazed at the awesome quality of the cabinet drawers and how only one screw is used for the mounting bracket..
first order of business... new drawers, and build a pantry slide and replace the 2 drawer boxes.

Pretty sure it’s the switch box for the back up/turn signal inputs to camera.

Our LED awning lights didn't work either and we found that the wiring was never connected.

I can’t imagine a dealer missing something not like it’s supposed be. Mine only missed about 20 things. I fixed 4 or 5. They have fixed several, a couple they did better than expected. I don’t know why they don’t fix that stuff before they sell it. It just makes THEM all look bad.
