What e bikes do folks recommend?

Rad Power Bikes mention of rain:

Rain is designed to flow off of electrical components from top to bottom, so be sure to keep the bike upright when the bike is wet and while it is drying.

Note that above doesn't say don't ride in the rain...

I've ridden mine around in the snow, rain (downpour even), mud, and have gently hosed it down without issue (in addition: I didn't get zapped).

We bought two foldables and store them in the binds-enjoy it alot-bought via Amazon $1200 each. No peddle required unless you want to-will go 50 miles on single charge and 28mph-i have ove 400 miles on mine now-no issues

We have 2 Ecotric fat tire bikes and love them. Range is probably 20 miles (been 15 and still had 1/2 the battery) and top speed is 20mph. They go thru the sand pretty well so they are great on the beach.
We don't have a toad and these are our only transportation outside of the motorhome.
Price was $1900 for the pair delivered, worth every penny.

Our's are 500's-but I don't know which one-it folds in 1/2 stores in the bind. I know there is a FB group on Rattan-you may check there to get the correct model number your looking for. I ordered a traditional I would call a male frame no step thru because I am a boy and macho. I ordered the wife a step thru frame because that is what she wanted. I wish I had ordered both step thru frames-I am 61 years old I get tired of swinging my leg over to mount.

Riding the bike in moderate or light rain is no problem, please make sure the bike is bone dry before the next riding, or the bike will cut off randomly. But do not park the bike in rain and never wade in the water. The battery and controller have a self-protection program. They will cut the power if there is a short. But water damage will destroy the electricity of the bike.

Thats the disclaimer they post, it doesn't reflect my experience. For the record, I really could care less what bike others buy or there experiences with their purchase, these are the bikes we chose, I'm thrilled with them and I was only sharing my information as an answer to the OP.

Side note they may be getting a handle of their orders. They sent me an email asking how did I like the response.from there customer service person. I said (poor) and went on to explain my reasons. Two days later I received another email with detailed shipping information (not for just my bike but all orders) as to when shipping will happen. I believe I rattled some management feathers and woke them up.
Don't worry, they seem to be working hard getting them out. Just needed to get their information straight.

Thanks for getting back to me, sorry for the confusion! On the XP 2.0, all of the electrical components are rated at IP65, including the display, battery, motor, and controller.

I have beat them bikes all up. In rain, in salt water, etc!

the still run like a champ! Got some rust on the cheap parts but bikes still hold together!

I fold them up and they go in back of our Toad.

We bought 2 RadRunners in May-simplicity, step-thru, and price ($1299 each) is what drove our decision. Also ordered a Hollywood RV rider bike rack that is only one of two racks that I found that is certified to be used on a towed vehicle. I ordered it thru etrailer ($599) but their ship date was Oct-Nov. Found one on Amazon for $699 and got it. Great rack, easy to load & we really like our ebikes!
