Glad you were able to get one. We had the same problem, even lucky enough to have left a window open like you. By chance, we found a replacement at a nearby CW that the service dept had lying around. We still have trouble with the lock sticking at times. I have spent hours trying different things, even have a spare that we installed, and haven't found a solution. Anytime we leave the pup inside, we leave a window unlocked, just in case. Not the best solution, lol.

Yep, that's the Trimark lock failure. Discussed multiple times on this forum and your 2016 is the right vintage for this problem. You might try calling Trimark tomorrow with some honey in your voice - some have been able to have a free replacement sent to them. The replacement locks are supposed to have that pot metal piece replaced with real stamped steel.

Other options are Amazon or you could try the keyless entry lock recently discussed on this forum.

Yep! Happen to us .. should be a safety recall .. we got trapped inside our coach without a screwdriver, friends had to come and get one out of storage. It’s a flaw, cost me $150 from Amazon for exact replacement… couldn’t talk trimark into a repair part ..

Ours did the same, locking my husband out, with me stuck inside, while at a rest area! He had to climb through the window. We had to finish our trip using the other lock to hold the door shut the rest of the trip. We ended up replacing the entire thing. Since it seems common from our research, we are considering carrying an extra!

I have a 2018 29m Windsport and my door did that once but my wife had her spare set so I got in. Immediatly got a door and dead bolt key and pull tied them both under the rear of the chassis. If yours broke now's a good time to get a high quality replacement!!!

The lock broke, not the key. I'm sure your wife did not have a spare lock.

Ours gave up after 20 years.. Replaced the whole 9 yards.. Now only lock the door with the deadebolt.

Replaced ours with an RV Keyless Lock and have not looked back.
