What Iphone "APP" do you use when traveling?

I searched this forum for any recommendations when it comes to an Iphone app for traveling and didn't find much and what I did find were old.

What I'd like to find is an app that shows motorhome friendly routes and easy access gas stations (if such an app exists).

RV Life gives you great RV Safe Routes (paid app) as well as camp grounds and gas stations.

What is your travel style? Minute detail planning, or seat of pants? Boondocking/primitive campgrounds or primarily full hookups?

Most apps today have been refined to serve specific needs. By narrowing your travel style, you can zero in on apps that work well for you. Otherwise you may wind up with 50+ apps, and only use 5 or 6 of them.

I’ve not found apps for RV friendly gas stations. That’s why I usually just stop at Loves, Flying J, or TA gas stations. They cater to truckers so the gas pumps even for gas RV are usually accessible.

Another option is to use street view in Google Maps. That a great way to see what the entrance and exits are like.

I use Allstays to find campsites. It covers both public and private campgrounds and at least for state, USFS and NPS sites it links directly to their reservation page.

For routing, I just use Google Maps on my iPad. Yes it does not consider RV weight, LP and height limitations and I once was routed to the Taconic Parkway in NY which is auto only, but I easily rerouted. I am also aware of the Baltimore tunnel which prohibits LP tanks, so I let Google do its normal routing and then put an extra stop on the 695 beltway which avoids the tunnel. Those and a few more auto only parkways are the only things I have had to deal with.

I like Google Maps because it is clean and intuitive and will reroute you around serious congestion like wrecks.

I call that a Garmin RV GPS.

When I had a cabover camper, I was more "seat of pants", but with the Class A, I now plan cause I don't want to get somewhere and find out there is no vacancy.

I'm actually thinking of joining either Boondockers or Harvest Hosts, cause I'm not real keen on parking next right next to people like a drive-in theater. I am planning on searching this forum to see if there is any reviews.

I do have gas buddy...that is a great app.

I am a meme bee of Harvest Host and I love it. Nice to have a secure place to overnight instead of Walmart or Cracker Barrel. It’s expected you buy something for about 20 bucks from them but at least that way you get more for your money. Just keep the spending at the wineries under control. We left one winery a couple hundred shorter but their hard cider was to die for.

Different apps, depending upon what I want to do.

Find diesel - GasBuddy
Find boondocking locations - Compendium
Find commercial campground - RVParky
Find State campgrounds - appropriate state campground app
Long term navigation - TomTom
City navigation - Google Maps
OffRoad navigation (for our Jeep toad) - OnX Off-road
State of the house batteries - Victron Connect
Current coordinates - Coordinates

also for general use - Compass, which has a compass, altitude information, leveling information and a lot more.

🤣 I have to laugh as we overnighted at a HH member winery in Arkansas for free … but dropped $200 for wine.

All of the apps mentioned before are good..,,be sure to get one that shows low bridges and underpasses, weight limitations, truckers apps are best. Always have paper maps or road atlas books of US for areas of bad cell / gps service
