Hi Everyone! I'm a newbie! And I have questions please!

I recently purchased a 2018 Thor Motorcoach 31 ft. C Class.
I can't seem to get the tankless hot water heater to work? I've tried the breakers, fuses, and there is no reset button. Can anyone enlighten me please? I figure being new to this it's probably operator error!
I added two photos
Thanks!

We need symptoms.
No power
No lights
Thermostat won't change display
Tries to fire up.
I hear clicking
I don't hear clicking
Hot water side of faucet is running water
The display shows this:
I hear the burner kick on
I have turned on the main propane valve.

Come back with those answered.
Good well thought questions get answers, not guesses.

Congratulations and welcome.

From what I've read on here those tankless heaters require high pressure and some flow before they kick on.

You might have to physically check the fuses to be sure you don't have one burned out that controls the unit. The water pressure needs to be set between 50-55psi for the water heater to heat up. Are you getting water flow out of the hot water line? The temp needs to be set between 102-110. You need to start at the heater and follow the electrical back to the control unit to determine where the electrical problem is located. It could be at the back of the control unit itself.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Paul

I believe, and don't take it as fact b3cuas3 this is from memory :
There's a small fuse behind the faceplate of the water heater control.
Since you have no lights on the heater control at all, a dead display on a dead control panel, it's electrical and not water pressure related.
I THINK the face pops off of the control to find the tiny fuse but I would unscrew the display from the wall and test for power going into the controller. If there's power at the back of it it's not a breaker or fuse within the coach.
If there is power there look at the circuit board for the tiny fuse.
If there isn't power there, your problem is within the coach wiring.

Your answers tell us it's not pressure or water related.

Thanks for responding

A fuse behind the face plate makes sense. We will try to see if that comes off. We saw the fuse on the circuit board, if, I think you are talking about the fuse on the circuit board on the tankless water heater itself, correct? That fuse is ok.
We're still working on it again.
Thanks,

In this case: getting into hot water is a good thing...

There is a reset button for the tankless hot water system. You need to remove the exterior cover. Look deep into the back usually upper left corner. There is a white button with a wire connected to it. It does not look like a button and it is not marked as the reset button. Just push it it(only goes in a couple of milimeters) and you should have hot water again. There is a You Tube Video on it if you type in Girard Tankless Hot Water Reset Button.

No, I think there's a tiny fuse inside the actual control on the wall.
I might be confusing myself with the floor heater thermostat, but I saw a tiny fuse on one of them on that wall.

This may be way too simple - but have you checked to make sure your water heater is turned on? Open the heater door on the outside of your rig and look for an on/off switch. I turn my water heater off every fall and then back on in the spring.

I turn mine off when I leave the campground, and turn it back on when setting up. I'm guilty of forgetting to turn it back on once.

Hot water heater working

Hi Everyone,
First, I want to thank all of you for trying to help me with suggestions as to why the hot water heater was not working. Monday morning we woke up in the campground and my daughter said, "the hot water heater just turned on". I looked and sure enough it was on and we had hot water from then on. No idea what changed, or why it happened. The only thing we can figure is that, as someone said, sometimes an insect may get in blocking the connection. So, problem solved, mystery continues. We will see what happens the next time.
I appreciate everyone's help! And, I plan to have it checked with a certified mechanic when we get home.

Can you please explain bypass? I did not see anything in the owners manual about a bypass mode. So not sure how to determine that.
Thanks,
Carol

Check propoane is turned on. My Miramar 37.1 uses propane.
Also....
Has to be enough water pressure.
Fill your fresh water tank and use the water pump.

Most camp grounds don't have enough presure to activate .

Make sure your water tank is at least 3/4 full. We own a 2017 Thor gemini and had the same problem....after having everything checked out with our RV guy, just filling the water tank worked!
