When in Michigan I couldn't store at house (HOA rules)... Used outdoor open storage lot (secure gated) about 4 miles away for mid $60's a month by the time we moved... No power access.
One consideration for new home in Florida was RV storage - and now it stays with us... Seemed outdoor storage was going to cost more than up north when I did some initial looking... and indoor even more.
Its outside - but sheltered from much of the direct sun by buildings and trees.

MH storage
We keep our Axis right in front of our home but to the side of our driveway. We constructed a stone pad 15 ft wide and 30 foot long. Our other option was in a campground that closes Oct 1 and reopens May 1 every year. The price was $50 per month with no hook ups and out in the open. When the snow falls they do not plow. Being the campground is right across from my home I would have easy access and easy in and out ( I know where the plow and keys are) and it's a neighbor benefit.
So we crunched the figures and will have to dump about $6K for a reseal of our giveaway this spring / summer any way so we decided take the hit now. Maybe in a year or so we will put up a pole barn. Another option is a friend about 20 miles away who has a farm and a barn where we can park our RUV next to the 34 class they have ...cost nothing but a bit of friendship! We are new to ring and are brand new its timers so it's always something to think about as far as MHRVing!

There are some advantages to commercial storage, even if not covered.
If it is paved or graveled parking lot vs- closed campground in overflow area, maybe in field or wooded area. Mice, squirrels, and other vermin are more adapt in fields and wooded areas, especially if there is no movement for long periods.
Either way just be diligent in prepping your rig for storage to eliminate unwanted guests. There are lots of wires and foam that they love from rigs.

Ours is parked inside our airplane hanger. Out of the direct weather, but still winterize. Always plugged into electric, need to to add water and sewer someday.

Since we have two houses that we split our time between, I have two different answers.
In Atlanta, we really don't have a way to store it at our house. So, we have a covered parking spot at an RV/boat storage lot. Since it is covered, it stays out of most of the weather. We don't have power there, so I have to go every so often and run the engine and the generator. We pay about $110 a month for that. We also pay for it all year round. After the first year we had an RV and had a hard time find a parking spot when winter came around (when everyone around here parks their boats and RV), we just decided to keep it all year round so we didn't have to go through that again.
In Utah, that is a different story. We hadn't built the garage yet when we got out there the first time with the RV. We did have the slab and foundation poured when the house was set. Unfortunately, we didn't make the opening for the garage door wide enough for a RV and a car, so we had to have that widened. We just had to make the garage a little taller than we had originally planned. I think we spend around $40k for the garage. Although, that was not much of a premium for making it bigger for the RV.
Attached is a picture of the garage in Utah.

Six-Packs are always a great combination!
(The hemis were a bit "fussy"; weren't they? )

I was building my pole barn the same time as OldChief but was behind his progress. It is mostly finished now:
Already had 30 Amp, water and sewer in that location for our previous TTs.

We park ours at a local business. 660 a year. Its on cement parking lot, 30 and 50 amp service, cable tv and water. Also a dumpster to throw out trash. It is also double gated and locked. We're allowed to wash RV. I also plug it in 4 days before we go to charge batteries and turn on fridge.

Thankfully I live in the desert southwest where there is plenty of open land. There is a large piece of property three miles down the road from our house owned by a nice old cowboy, and we park our rig there for cheap!

RV storage
We can't park or Windsport at the house because of HOA. We found a large and secure lot about a mile from our house where we keep this one and our previous Class C. We were charged $50 a month for the last 8 years, then the owner just upped it to $65 per month. There are other store and lock facilities that have RV storage, but the place we have it now is safe and nearby. The owner patrols the lot and keeps the gate locked after dark.
