DE winterizing:

Could someone give me a specific brand of bleach that is "safe" to use for disinfecting the water lines and water tank before starting a new season. My first time.
And if you have any easy methods, I'd appreciate those too. (Especially in the mixing of the blea h and water) Thanks

Any of the uncented bleach would work. About 1/4 cup to a gal use an empty gallon jug, fill with water and bleach. Then use the winterizing port to suck the mixture up. You go through the same procedures as winterizing. After letting the bleach set in the lines for awhile rinse out with fresh water

While on bleach, is it ok for the plumbing to use bleach in the toilet tanks to clean them out or is there potential for problems with sensors etc?

Problem with bleach is that it will eat rubber gaskets and stuff. I would be careful with the bleach + toilet plumbing unless you want to replace seals.

We use 1/4 cup per 15 gallons. 1/4 cup per gallon is way too much. We also fill the hose with straight bleach and then hook up water and let the water push it in your fresh water tank.
