Winegard Dish Left Up While Traveling
Don't have all my miles calculated yet but since taking off the first part of July we have traveled from Florida, to Canada, to west coast, and now back to Florida. We have the DirectTV Winegard dish mounted on top. We hit the button last night to put it in "stow" for an early morning take off time from our last CG. Left at 4:30am and drove until around 8am before stopping at a rest area. It was then while walking around outside I noticed the dish was still in the up position!
I had hit 70-72 a couple of times going down some hills but generally had been going between 65 and 68mph. I went up on the roof and checked the mount but everything was okay. We stowed it correctly and finished the days travels.
Learned two things. Always physically check to make sure the dish goes down before taking off, instead of just pushing button and expecting it to respond. Second lesson learned was these Winegard satellite dishes can take up to 70mph winds so no more putting it down in a storm I guess.
