winterize a washing machine

Well we finally got a washing machine with our RV, now how do you winterize this? I was just going to run a cycle with the pink antifreeze going through the system, any advice on how else to do this. It's a Splendide stackable,Thank you.

It's been a while since I have winterized an RV, but when I did, I blew out the lines with compressed air and then pumped RV antifreeze through them until it came out of each faucet, shower, toilet, and hot and cold lines to the washer/dryer. I poured anti freeze in the washer and put it on the drain cycle to be sure that the pump and drain lines had anti freeze running through them. Don't forget the kitchen sink sprayer if you have one. And make sure the traps are full of anti freeze.

winterize a washing machine

Metalman is pretty close to the process. I start a wash load while hooked up to antifreeze so that the water lines running to the washer are treated. Just pouring antifreeze in the washer may leave you vulnerable. Once I see pink in the washer I interrupt the cycle and do a spin/drain cycle to finish. To de-winterize I run a complete wash cycle to remove the antifreeze.
Pretty amazing having a washer/dryer in a motorhome. I remember in the beginning "thinking we don't need that". Kind of like a long time ago when we scoffed at anyone who was so lazy as to use a remote control for their TV.
