virus closings and full timers.

Can the government close private camp grounds? I'm talking about ones with seasonal full time campers. Seems to me that would be akin to kicking you out of your house. Where would a full timer go??

Oregon has, thanks to the draconian closure mandates... I guess she expects us full timers to just "squat" on the side streets joining the Homeless with their shopping buggies...

If they ever get wild enough to declare Marshall Law, I think they can do just about anything.

If it happened to me I would park at the curb in front of her house with a sign. Homeless no place to go. What are they gonna do arrest you.

The Virginia Stay at Home Executive Order that went into effect on Monday states no. private campground reservation under 14 days. The order allows reservations greater than 14 days so they distinguish between short term and long term.

State Parks are day use only with not camping.

Probably. They'll pull something out of their a$$ to charge you with and impound your RV so his brother in-law can charge you rent while you sit in jail. If you have a toad, he gets two for one.

In Oregon the Homeless street people have more rights than you do.

My former home state, the "If You Can Dream It, We Can Tax It" state of Maryland has ordered campgrounds closed, but with an exception for full-timers who have no sticks-and-bricks home to go to.

The posse comitas act of 1878 forbids martial law without congressional approval.

As of 4/3/20, Florida campgrounds cannot accept new arrivals. Those presently in place may remain until the end of their reservations. Apparently, fulltimers can remain.

Today.. We managed to secure a monthly space to hunker down..the down side is we had to agree to a 4 month minimum term.. on the other hand $635 a month "all in", sure beats $335 by the week..and it is a nice park.

Glad you found a landing spot, Saddle; never occurred to me that full-timers could be forced out of the spaces they've paid for.

I don't care what state your in, they can't evict you over this. And make no mistake it is an eviction, you have paid your rent and it is your home.

Where we are they aren't taking new reservations but we can continue to stay on here even if we hadn't previously reserved.

So sorry for the folks who have been displaced because of the Corona Virus. It seems so unnecessary! As long as an RV is self contained, there does not need to be any up close contact, any more than there would be in an apartment complex, or any other permanent structure made to house more than one person. Saddlesore, you are talking about the same person who also felt it was her duty to stop established online distance learning in Oregon because brick and mortar schools were closed. Then when they were allowed to restart because the brick and mortar schools were starting online classes, she felt it was also her duty to prevent approximately 1,600 parents from transferring their kids to the privately run established online programs. So if she feels she has the right to interfere with parental rights regarding their own children's education, why would she not also throw people out of their homes by disallowing private parks from honoring their pre-established contracts with long term individuals. Don't get me wrong, I am taking this Covid 19 thing seriously, and am sheltering at home, despite my desire to be on the road right now. But this all needs to be done with some reality based thought, and that is not what is happing in some instances. So sorry you got caught in that. Glad you found another place. Hopefully this one won't get messed with.

I heard straight from a MN couple on their way back home from FL, that anyone there less than 30 days should consider leaving. Seasonal snow birds were not affected, but no new reservations.

I wouldn't want to be in FL past the end of April, anyway. Hurricane season officially starts May 1.

Actually June 1, but things normally don't get stirred up until August - September

some of these 'orders' just don't make any common sense...when would 'camping' or staying at an rv park somehow cause any more 'risk' than those living 12' apart in cramped apartments buildings in NYC???

GA just announced new rules: no 'air bnb' type home rentals, period, yet hotel are welcomed to do business. Beaches are open, and folks are welcomed. State parks are open and folks are welcomed. But no to 'air bnb' type home rentals.... really?? I don't get it. I may never get it.

Indiana has closed campgrounds. Exception is for full timers. Though I don’t know how they will determine if individuals do not have a sticks and bricks home.
Lot’s of mixed messaging in the governor’s stay home order. Basically the only businesses that seem to be non essential are restaurants, bars, malls, clothing and craft stores. Everything else seems to be open.
From my once a week shift doing repairs at the local hardware people aren’t staying home either. Store was packed I had to lock the shop door to keep the yo yo’s out. That’s with a sign on the door saying employees only and no public restroom. 20% just don’t get it....
