Trip Cancelled due to Riots

We were planning a trip to DE,PA and leaving tomorrow. But due to the riots and protesters blocking highways, we put it on hold. Better safe than sorry.

where are they blocking highways. Do you think the troopers are going to allow that? There are no highways or interstates closed up through New York or Pennsylvania.

We were in Savannah, non-RV trip, staying in a hotel in the historic district. They announced the protests for 2:00 PM yesterday and the hotel allowed all residents to check out late without penalty if they desired. All of the businesses were shutting down early in anticipation of events. At the DW's request we left and drove home. During the ride home we found out the Savannah protests were peaceful and did not turn into a riot.

Don't go so high up. See if you can get into Lum's Pond in Bear DE. From there, you can 'go around' Wilmington into PA without having to run I-95 (e.g. 322 into West Chester is a really decent road and goes right around most of the trouble.

Lums Pond gets good cell service so you can do more digging/research when you get there. Don't let them ruin your plans. It's like domestic terrorism. They want you to be afraid and 'shelter in place'. Don't give in to them, just avoid them.

Edit: This'll get you to West Chester and it's a pleasant ride. You'll have to take it from here. There's a train trestle on Rt4 in Newark but tractor-trailer rigs pass under it all the time. Get gas on Rt7 near Hockessin. I don't remember seeing many places to do so after that, or you can take Rt1 towards Chadds Ford, though 202 get's pretty rough in some places - tight traffic and crappy roads.

They were blocking I-95 day before yesterday. Troopers eventually showed but not before someone's back window got trashed. Nothing says it won't happen again.

It stinks to have to cancel plans; but it's better to play it safe!

I received two alerts yesterday that I-95 was closed to traffic through parts of West Palm Beach. Later while watching recorded national news the local station showed the Interstate closed for a few miles. Demonstrations were peaceful as far as I know.

If you break the law while demonstrating by walking on or blocking an Interstate, then you don't meet my definition of peaceful.
