Georgia RV Park / Campgrounds

Now that Georgia has decided to snub COVID-19 and move on with life, does anyone know of any RV parks that are currently open or are planning on opening in the next week or so?

TIA

From what I've learned it will be between 30 and 45 days and then only private parks in certain areas of the State not all.

GA never 'shut down' any state parks, they have always been open... beaches, too.

I've been calling Shoal Creek RV park for info and I only get voice mail. Leaving a message does nothing.

The bigger question is: Will they allow you (cpmath) and Me, and other New Yorkers at the campgrounds?

We were at a very nice Koa in South Carolina for 8 days and just got to a Koa in The Savannah, GA. Be here for the week. Decent place and the weather looks great for the week.

Pine Mountain RV Park is a great place, they are open and taking reservations. Callaway Gardens is beautiful right now.

We are Workampers and have worked for the Corps of Engineers in Ga. The latest we've heard is that they will open their parks at Lanier and Allatoona on the 18th of May. Better get to Reservations.gov quick to find a spot!

Try this

Try this link. I got it through FMCA and my understanding is that it is constantly updated. Good luck.

For future reference in Carrollton GA area

[QUOTE] Just booked a week at Shoal Creek! I'm ready to get this monster in the wind...]

There are two ‘no frills’ parks I really like in Carrollton GA. John Tanner Campfround (Site 27 is great) and Little Tallapoosa.

No frills yet my kind of campground. AT&T cells work better at Talkapoosa than Tanner.

Have fun at Shoal Creek!

GA state parks are open but not sure about COE. We are sitting here in Indian Springs SP, just left Victoria Bryant SP 2 days ago and heading to Cloud Canyon SP tomorrow. Campgrounds, hiking trails and bathrooms all open but museums, visitor centers, swim areas and playgrounds closed.

It’s just to risky yet. We wanted to head to Stone Mountain. Shout you can book but their still 70% closed. Nearby attractions all closed. Wish I knew it was safe to RV camp but I’m sure many people are. It’s a crazy situation. 100,000 plus deaths speaks volumes.

You're right! It speaks volumes that we are at less than 50% of the minimum predictions (remember the 2- million death predictions?) despite the effort to classify every death possible as a Covid-19 death.

Why would it be less safe to RV camp than staying at home. Nothing about camping requires you to be in a crowd of people. I've always used camping (all kinds) to get "away from it all".

That’s the dilemma, with grandkids probably in tow, the responsibility for safety is so much more. Park restrooms and showers could no way be disinfected. Then playgrounds, game rooms, camp stores and pool areas. Yes the social distancing not a problem in RV camping but based on data from KOA, Thousand Trails and good Sam , we’ll wait. All said yes your getting away but COVID-19 is not
