The entry points listed above have geo-fenced areas so that vehicles entering the state will receive a text message from a federal system, according to Carlos Braceras, Executive Director of the Utah Department of Transportation.
Does that mean they won't have troopers at the borders monitoring since it will all be handled electronically (and what would happen if everyone turned off their cellphone's well before the border and then back on once they are within Utah?).

I routinely cross state lines here in north Florida. Guess I don't have to worry about it if I drive to Utah. Another CV19 action that makes no sense.

Nope, The Fed stepped in to enforce the Interstate transportation laws (unhindered movement of freight) on trucking & truckdrivers, that said, everyone else is routed into the truck POE/scales to be checked... You are seeing the same thing in several other states and/or counties/cities.... They are just trying to limit the progression of the virus..
Keep in mind..If You bought it ...a Truck and Truckdriver Brought it to the stores...
POE = Port of [State] Entry)

What areas are going to be alerted?
  1. I-15 at the Arizona border
  2. US-89 north of Kanab
  3. US-491/191 at Monticello
  4. I-70 at the Colorado border
  5. US-40 at the Colorado border
  6. I-80 at the Wyoming border
  7. I-15 at the Idaho border
  8. I-84 at the Idaho border
  9. I-80 at the Nevada border
There are other routes to take. I had planned on taking 89 > 12 > 22. Just not sure of the gas station situation. At 7-8 mpg, I have some homework to do.

I was shooting for Rt 12 for the view expressed in this post. Gas stations are few and far between. Doing the math. My head hurts.
