We usually eat about 1:00 PM. If you and the Mrs leave soon you should be able to make it in time. 80 degrees and a nice breeze right now, low 60s in the morning. DeLeon Springs, Florida; not too far from I-95. We'll set a place for both of you.

No big gathering for us. Just in house family. 2 guys I used to work with are gone from the virus and a dear friend just lost her husband.
Both she and her husband contracted Covid after going to a restaurant, she had no symptoms he died 2 weeks later. The virus affects everyone differently.
My wife has COPD and I after 35 years in the a dust trade have underlying health issues as well. To us it's not worth taking a chance with a vaccine only months away.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Mark

MJC,
both of us here have more thN enough co-morbidity factors.
But we also know how to be very, careful and thorough with anri-microbial protocols, and will continue to be careful.
Y'all do the same!

You are lucky I have now had 2 friends die of it.

My condolences go out to you, and to their families...
It hits everybody in a different way, and you just can't predict how it might affect you.
But I have great reservations over the fact that the "experts" (whoever they are): can protect my family better than we can protect ourselves.

I really don't care what people do to endanger themselves, its their prerogative, However the big issue with this particular disease is how many others you can spread it to without knowing, as illustrated below.

I got my pumpkin pie cooked as well as the eggs and potatoes. This year I will be making the sliced potatoes and cheese instead of the mashed potatoes for something a bit different on tomorrow's table.

Same here. One of our Thanksgiving regulars is no longer with us due to Covid. He was very old, but a reminder of the risk nonetheless. I’m caring for a 95-year-old, so taking warnings from medical experts seriously.

Glad to hear people are taking responsibility for their own safety. Also glad to hear people are not letting this thing ruin their holiday.

Well, we can’t go see any or our 3 daughters and family due to one being married to a family nurse practitioner, one with a husband with co-morbidities and one being immune compromised with rheumatoid arthritis.

So we precooked half of Thanksgiving dinner at home (potatoes, rutabaga and wife made individual servings of dressing in a muffin pan - quite good) and took our bubble to Hilton Head Island for a week.

Going to finish dinner on the Blackstone with turkey breast tenderloins and bacon wrapped asparagus.

When life hands you lemons...
