Thanksgiving and Covid Restrictions

Anyone going to pay attention to government officials that want to limit turkey day gatherings?

My parents have decided just on their own to stay away, they are in their 70’s and transplant recipients so it’s not worth the risk. Second to that I am considered an essential worker and my employer is holding us to the rules set forth. So really don’t have a choice.

Nope screw them. While I know it effects everyone differently my wife and I had it back in October. I have had worse colds. Same thing for my 79 year old mother. I'm sick and tired of the sky is falling government trying to dictate how we live our lives.

We are not going by their new rules here in Calif. My brother and his family decided on their own weeks ago not to go out this year to our home mainly due to his mother in law and her medical at risk issues. My brother in law and his family are still coming over for turkey. We still go out whenever we want at this point and are still planning our trip out of state just after Christmas. No "blah humbug" stopping us.

Heading up to PA to be with kids and grand kids. Screw their travel restrictions and quarintine.

Both our kids & all our grandkids (15 people total) will be together for the 1st time in 12-15 years for Thanksgiving & the only way they'll stop us is to throw us in jail!!!!
I'd think law enforcement would have more important things to tend to than where/how/with whom I spend the Holidays.
With the state this country is in the government also has more important things to be concerned about!

We're staying at home and having a Sam's club chicken.
We were all together at Christmas and together as smaller groups since...and we have pretty long memories, so that'll suffice.

No reason for us staying home other than not wanting to be on the road on
'Amateur driver long weekend.'

I'm cooking thanksgiving for the first time in years. Normally we would go to the wifes aunts house but they decided to go small this year

And it the first year for the granddaughter. So Thanksgiving and Christmas at my house this year. All friends and family are welcome

The governor locked down ca again but many sheriff departments and local police have publicly said they will not enforce or take any actions against people

We traveled down to the MIL's campground yesterday, about a 2.5 hour trip. The weather is perfect today as I prepare to brine the turkey listening to the Jimmy Buffet station on Amazon music through the outside speakers. Tomorrow we'll eat turkey, etc under the carport with my wife's two brothers, one wife, two daughters, one married with a two year old girl and her husband, and my oldest son and his 3 boys. Everyone lives local within 1/2 hour except for us. This is about half of the people we would normally have for Thanksgiving.

I'm not in charge of anything but the bird. My wife's doled out the rest of the food assignments, but I guarantee you it will be more than enough for everybody and it will be GOOD!
