Thanks for all the replies.

I took some charmin and put it in a glass of water. In 10-15 minutes it was dissolved. The label also says its septic tank approved

So charmin it will be. Maria will be happy now. We both hated the rv junkie paper

Jerry
Jerry, you should have asked a long time ago. Charmin is all I use and have been for many years, at home and in the RV. Charmin breaks down quickly and never clogs up.

Charmin extra strong is not approved for use in most septic systems. We have an AOSS (Alternative On-site Sewage System) so we have to be careful with what we use. Charmin Extra Soft and Angel Soft meet the requirements for dissolving within a certain period of time.

For those that may not know an AOSS is an expensive septic system with multiple tanks, pumps, agitators, aerators and distribution system that is used in areas with trouble soil and drainage. Ours was installed when the house was built because of the distance to the nearest sewer connection.

As a note, just because the TP says they are safe for use in septic systems doesn't mean they are. The septic manufacturers determine what is and is not safe for use in their systems based on how rapidly something dissolves.

We use Walmart brand. Do not use single ply. And we use a small trash can to dispose non-poop paper. Less tp in the tank. I also put 4 gallons of water in the black tank to start with for trips, then empty tank at park site. Close the black tank, 4 more gallons of water, empty before we leave. I usually fill tank with 6 gallons of water then empty then Refill tank with 4 gallons of fresh water and deodorizer. Walmart tp seems to disinegrate better than most to me.

We've always used the Kirkland(Costco) brand of toilet paper that is labeled septic safe. Never had any clogs or problems.

The above video verifies our experience. We use Charmin Ultrasoft and have no problems. It's kind to the hind and dissolves just fine.

Well I guess its Charmin which is good because its what we use in the house. Hopefully we will be able to get it at Costco when needed. Right now the media has everyone panicked about the corona virus and the local Costco is out of water, toilet paper, and paper towels I went there Tuesday to get a few things and the line to get it was around the building. Then another line in the store to get water and paper.

I know you have received a lot of answers...we found Scott septic tank TP to work well and it is cheaper than the specialized paper in the RV section of the store...

RV TP is expensive. When we bought our Axis 25.6 the guy giving us the orientation said any 2-ply works. And for the most part we don’t flush it. Just put it inatrash bag we dispose of often.

I have always (over 20 years) what ever toilet tissue that was handy. Just make sure you flush your black tank completely.

Toilet Paper

Seems to matter whether you are travelling or parked. Travelling with gates closed, everything is sloshed around and liquefies. Parked, the solids will 'pyramid' and the cup or so of water that clears the bowl doesn't get the job out of the RV through the corrugated pipe to the sewer. When parked I let the black tank build up some volume to 'flush' at 2/3. Also carry a 'wand' that uses park pressure and probes the tanks from outside to accelerate the flow.

As long as you don't use 100 grit sandpaper and use plenty of water unlikely to be a problem.

I have been using Scott's single ply for the past 5 years and never had a problem. I make sure that we use enough water and it seems to break down just as well as the rv paper.

Well I did until the "BIG Clog". I finally used a home septic tank cleaner. Two days and some driving. After that even the tank level sensors worked! Then switch to Amazon-Brand Presto and use Happy Camper. Zero solids when dumping and I mean zero. Kind of shocked me the first time I dumped and zero solids. Presto is thick and soft. It breaks down very fast. It is perhaps the fastest paper that breaks down.
