Hi Jerry. MA got the Moderna and I got the Pfizer. On the second shot we both had similar side effects. Headache, sore arm and felt cold at night. Lasted less than 24 hours. No big deal.

What you can do or should do depends on the state where you reside and your personal fortitude. Here in Texas there is no longer a mask mandate or restrictions on dining, bars and clubs. We with another couple traveled to Hondo (Medina County) for Mexican food last night and the restaurant was full with about 50% wearing mask before and after dining. There was a larger than normal space between tables but not 6 feet. I still don't have the guts to go to Cora's 471 grill our local Texas Road House.

Here in the Village were everyone has had the Pfizer vaccine, the dining room, pool, exercise room are open and quarantine after travel is not required. No gatherings over 9 people, so we are back to inviting neighbors and friend over for drinks, but no concerts, birthday and anniversary celebrations, or church services. Still no guest in the Village but we are again showing perspective residents around. I think Memorial Day celebration will be the first Village wide celebration.

Not worried about immediate side effects from the shot. More worried about long term effects. Will I grow a third arm in 5 or term years
Serious though what will the mrna do to the body long term. That's the question or concern

Jerry

In the long term: we're all dead anyway...
I refuse to live my life; while being afraid of dying.

From Family to Friends who have had the "double shot" (vs the J&J one shot)...
- the 2nd shot, called the Booster Shot, seems to be the most challenging with chills, sweating, aches, fever, fatigue (sleeping all day for several days), large lump on sore arm
However, others like my 92 yr old Mother says she had no side affects other than a little arm soreness following Booster Shot

Then my sister in law and her boss had the J&J one shot on the same day at same location.
She was fine, no symptoms.
However, her boss had the negative symptoms like chills, sweating, fatigue for 48 hrs.

So it depends on your body's chemistry.

That said...they all got thru it and are now happy that they got it done.

Amen to that. My heart functions at 35 percent, I have an implanted jump starter (defibrillator), I had a triple bypass, and I underwent 8 weeks of Hepatitis C (service connected) treatment.

Sometime over the last 66 years I earned some bonus time so I am not going to concern myself with some minor vaccine side effects. I intend to enjoy my remaining days no matter how few they may be.

As someone said, get busy living or get busy dying. I choose the former.

The answer is no one knows and both sides take a risk. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. We decoded the human genome over 17 years ago (2003). We moved on to stem cell research. MRna contains tissue scavenged and then cultured from aborted fetuses and I'm not convinced people have stopped attempting to play God. I chose to muscle through it and get out of bed every day, never wearing a mask and letting nature take it's course. I am still free to make my own choices, and so are you.

I agree for the most part but after having covid for almost all of December I have a little more respect for what it can do.

J&J, Pfizer, or Moderna. Humm thats the question

MRNA is a method/carrier, it's not something that hangs out in your body to rear its head months or years down the road.

And if you kill that buzz: we'll end up discussing the grassy knoll, or the fake Moon landings...

Yes, please do:
"The fetal cell lines being used to produce some of the potential COVID-19 vaccines are from two sources:
● HEK-293: A kidney cell line that was isolated from a fetus in 1973 (undisclosed origin,
from either a spontaneous miscarriage or an elective abortion)
● PER.C6: A retinal cell line that was isolated from an aborted fetus in 1985"
