FYI: chickenpox was bad, shingles was/is/AND is very bad

Watch for the equivalent to shingles shots for antivaxer in 20 to 30 yrs

I am definitely not an anti vaxxer. I had chicken pox, it's not that bad unless your an adult.

Only two vaccines I don't trust yet, COVID and anthrax. No covid vaccine yet for me and 2 of the series of anthrax unfortunately

Bob is right on the money..............

Over the years the government has gone overboard with regulations, oversight and control in many walks of life. While I will agree that some regulation and oversight is necessary, I would also argue there is much that does nothing but add expense and delays to many things and waists tax payer and consumer dollars.

One of the many reason drugs are so expensive is the cost to support the regulatory process. This is not the 1900's. Drug R&D has grown and evolved a lot over the last 100+ years and while it has evolved, our governement has not.

I trust the COVID vaccines and had no qualms about getting my two shots in January and February. No drug is 100% effective or 100% without side-effects..... that is just not a realistic expectation because there are as many variables as there are people in this world.

Without Operation Warp Speed removing some of the unnecessary overisght, we would be in a crisis for another 9 - 18 months. States would be foolishly over-locked down and our economy would be worse off than it was a year ago. As it stands now with the vaccines and herd immunity, economists believe the economy will be back to where it was before the pandemic by the end of summer.... without the waist of tax dollars the government continues to spend without merit.

Keep in mind that mRNA technology has been in development for over a decade. There were some other potential vaccines designed with it earlier but when COVID showed up the mRNA developers focused on that. These weren't completly created from nothing in ~18 months--its been far far longer then that.

The percentage of people actually dying from the virus is very small when you drill down to the facts

Now it appears the vaccine may only be effective for 6 months

It truly comes down to whether you are prone to the respiratory side of it or not and also the medical community has a decent handle on how to treat it finally

Since I am in my mid 70's is should be panic stricken per the media however we traveled and attended events such as being at the Lake of the Ozarks last year

Lo and behold no one in our gatherings last year and we had many, have died

the very few that did have CV had mild cases including the 80-100 group in the family

Per some data CV came in as the #3 leading cause of death last year kicking out suicide from the top 10

To gain the #3 spot the data includes the 2.6 or so other morbid issues associated with the death

The discussions surrounding CV will go on for years

Perhaps in 5 years we will still be debating the various aspects on the Thor Forum

"Drilling down to the facts"; means nothing if you're one of the 548,000 (approximately), that have died here in America...
It's only been out for 6 Months.. or less.

They'll know how long it's good for: when it stops working.
In the meantime: I prefer to think it's still doing it's job!
