We just stayed a nice KOA about an hour away for 2 nights to try out our new coach. While we were there, I received an email from KOA about the status of their campgrounds.
Here is a link to the whole page of info:

Most KOAs are Open and Operating
https://koa.com/blog/update-on-covid-19/

"Some campgrounds have been closed. Below is an updated list of campgrounds who are closed, due to local government shutdowns. We will continue to update this list in as real-time as possible.
  • Santa Cruz / Monterey Bay KOA Holiday, CA – April 7, 2020
  • Moab KOA Holiday, UT – April 15, 2020
  • Cape Hatteras KOA Resort, NC – Foreseeable Future
  • Tulsa NE / Will Rogers Downs KOA Journey, OK – April 15, 2020
  • Las Vegas KOA Journey at Sam’s Town, NV – April 18, 2020
  • Richmond North / Kings Dominion KOA, VA – Early April"
I looked at Pilot/FJ website and they're all open except one in Ohio closed due to flooding. Of course the on site restaurants are closed except for take out food.

IMO, best advice is to call ahead and see if a CG is open.

Hard to think about camping with 3" of snow on the ground and still coming down!
Campgrounds and RV parks around here are a month away from even thinking about de-winterizing their washhouses and water lines. The true measure of what will be closed and for how long in the upper Midwest is still up in the air at this point.
Indiana's State Park Campgrounds for now remain open though I doubt they have anybody in them at least up on our end of the state. Group camps, youth camps, pavilion rentals and all of the visitor centers are closed through April 30 when they will re-evaluate the situation.
I usually don't think about de-winterizing our RV till the end of April so we have a few weeks to go before we even think about getting out.

Might be a good time to buy - while it’s low. It WILL go back up when people are free to travel again

Virginia State Parks going to day use only

On today's news they said the Virginia State Parks will be open for day use only from March 27 through April 30. They define day use as hiking, walking, exercise in groups of less than 10. All cabins, yurts, campgrounds etc... will be closed. They also said if someone uses the parks for day use to bring cash or check for the self pay parking boxes and park attendants will be available by phone. They also say to bring your own toilet paper and soap because they will not restock the bathrooms.

Virus causing campgrounds to close..listings

We are at the KOA in Wilmington, NC. North Carolina just issued a shelter-in-place order effective tomorrow night.

My wife was down at the camp store and they were told they have to cancel all short-term rentals starting March 30th. Apparently the local county for Wilmington is forcing them to cancel reservations and not the state.

I really feel bad for small businesses. The “cure” for COVID-19 is going to end up being worse than the virus itself in some cases.

I don’t see anyone congregating in large groups. People are keeping to themselves or at least keeping their distance. They already had the playground roped off when we got here 10 days ago.

What about any full-timers out there that need a place to stay for a few days?

Common sense is out the window with governments.... although I guess that has generally been the case for the past 30 years.

Very true statement Judge but you failed to include the general public.

This is IMHO but I see the whole country as 80/20. 80% get it and 20% never will. The 80% that get it always loose out when it comes to having things go from recommendations to rules, regulations and laws, because no matter how things are worded, "Danger", or how many signs say "Keep Out" 2 out of 10 people are going to go around the gate....

Unfortunately, you always have to govern to the lowest common denominator.

I prefer the hunt and peck method when it comes to people who fail to comply and keep away from me with their potential lethal virus.

You come around me hunting for trouble and I'll peck you in the head with a hammer. Problem solved! :-)

Campgrounds open to New York Rvers

Please post campgrounds that are open to New York State RVers.

We are being banned in a lot of places, and it is hard to find a place to flee to.

Just kidding I am not going anywhere.

We were in the skating business for 40 yrs....as years progressed, the number of notifications increased in our lobby...We had to post each and every Notice regarding liability and behavior to dress codes , … you name it was posted ! Just to protect us from that person...who would say...I didn't see anything that said I could not do this or that. We kindly, took them to the lobby and pointed out the sign and also showed them the obvious sign inside the building.
Which they had not read or cared not to read.
We didn't like to have to post all those signs anymore than they wanted to read them...but it is our way of life....

Having been retired for 2 yrs now...we hate the thought that we may be hogtied to our home this summer due to the current situation...We do, have extra acreage and a creek bed which runs across it...we might wind up moving the Axis over there and camping at home !! Who knows !!!

I know one thing...we are healthy seniors...and want to stay that way !!!
We get out and walk daily, now that our weather has gotten a bit nicer...fresh air does wonders...looking forward to working in the yard...

YOU ALL STAY SAFE....STAY YOUR DISTANCE...DON'T TOUCH YOUR FACE..
USE HAND SANITIZER...AND STAY HOME AS MUCH AS YOU CAN STAND !!

WE CAN GET THROUGH THIS !

Ron and Kay

W Va. just closed all campgrounds mainly because of out-of-staters coming in and taking aa of the spaces. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for tourism, but at this time we don't need to have our already strained resources burdened more or buying up essentials that our own seniors need.

Exclamation

Governor of Maryland ordered all campgrounds in the state closed, but allows full-timers who do not have a sticks-and-bricks home to remain where they are. How that's gonna work with bath houses, camp store and laundry rooms closed remains to be seen.
