2017 Freedom Elite 22E - bathroom access

We just sold our 5th wheel and are in the market for a small Class C. We're looking at the Freedom Elite 22E. Can anyone tell me if the bathroom is accessible when the bedroom slide is in? I saw a comment somewhere (can't remember where) that said the bathroom door will only open about 6 inches when the slide is pulled in. Is that true?

You may have misunderstood.

Based on the floorplan, the Queen bed can only be available for sleeping when the bedroom slide is extended.
So when the slide is not extended, you have a sofa. And you should have plenty of room to access the bathroom

Here's one thing that I don't think you'll like...
You only have access to your bedroom closet and drawers when the slide is extended.
In the photo the slide is extended. When the slide is retracted, it covers the closet area only allowing the doors & drawers to open 6" or less

Personally, I do not like that set-up.
I prefer a floorplan that allows me to sleep and access all cupboards & drawers without extending a slide.

It's always a "give & take" decision when choosing an RV floorplan

We had a Freedom Elite 26HE. Basically same rear floorplan. Yes, we could get into bathroom with slide in. Door doesn’t fully open, but you can get in.

We had a 2018 FE22

1. Yes you can get into the bathroom with the slide in no problem.

2. The bed folds to come in so it does not make a sofa.

3. Yes the slide blocks the bedroom drawers but the closet has another door on the dinette side. It was actually quite handy.
