Advice needed - which one to buy?

Hello all you lovers of full-time living in a Thor Class C RV!

Hubby and I are considering to live full-time in an RV with our dog. We are in our late 40s, birth working rrmotely. We used to rent but currently are Airbnb nomads. We are looking for a Class C that would have at least one permanent desk set-up (perhaps instead of a bunk bed in one of the longer Chateaus) as well as washer/dryer. Hubby would use the desk while I would use dinette table for work. Ample storage (for my climbing gear and a paddleboard) would also be appreciated. I don't see any floorplan with our requirements - any idea where to look? Does Thor allow customization or should we do it ourselves like remove bunk bed and install a desk? Any pointers would be appreciated. Or perhaps we are looking in a wrong place and should consider another brand of a motorhome. Please advise.

I doubt if you will find your floorplan on a standard Thor Class C or anyone's for that matter. It will definitely take a Super C of about 30' to find the kind of RV that you could modify to give you what you want.

I would look for a newish, used RV since taking a new one and modifying it would immediately result in a serious reduction in value. At least with a used one you are starting with a lower number.

I know this because some years ago I bought a new fifth wheel that I modified to remove one of the dinette's bench seats so I could use a recliner in its place. When I got ready to sell it, the consignment sellers told me it would be a tough sell. It was.

I agree with David. Look for a used Super C since you want a C Class RV. You could consider a small Class A used. Go to a local dealer and see what they offer on the lot. Go through several models.

What the other guys said... or even a small (under 33') Class A would give you the space that you need.
Tiffin has their Allegro Breeze in a 21' floorplan, and it's a diesel pusher too!

Generally speaking none of the C manufacturers do any customization at the factory. In fact unless you go up several notches in the price point, customization in RVs isn't done. What you are faced with is finding one with the desired floor space and remodel yourself. There are some bunkhouse versions with 2 bunks on the curb side which advertise as also wardrobes. Perhaps gutting and building a workspace? I see a lot of comments about needing office space as you do and often they refer to using a toy hauler for that. In that case the garage easily becomes the office and often with a half bath. But of course now you have a towable and required tow vehicle. If you get a C you still really need a towed vehicle, toad.

Also to consider is how much you will be driving. If you anticipate lengthy stays, a towable makes more financial and logistical sense. If frequent moving is in the scheme, then a motorhome of the A or C variety might make sense.
