2019 Thor Magnitude BB35

Hello, this is going to be a long shot, however I must try!

I purchased a used 2019 Thor Magnitude BB35 from an online auction, located in Colorado. I am looking to see if I could find the previous owner to answer a few questions I have about the unit that I can not resolve anywhere I look.

Just an FYI.....

You have a 2020 Magnitude BB35 on a 2019 Ford F-550 Chassis. The Omni / Magnitudes were introduced in the 2020 model year but the chassis is typically a model year older than the coach model year.

The omni/magnitude models were a great idea, just poorly executed. I hope you read extensively about the quality issues they have before you plunked down a chunk of change. Very good chassis although it can be difficult to find a Ford dealership that will work on them. House, that's a different matter and since no warranty is in effect, you can pick any independent location of your choice. Hope you are handy with repairs and such.

Thank you for that information! That would probably explain why I am unable to find certain things considering I am always searching "2019".

Also this goes to show that my year was the 'prototype' year of a new model, which explains all the cheap errors / lack of quality in such an expensive unit.

The Omni Magnitude are renamed Four Winds / Chateau Super C motorhomes and we’re not some new model prototype. Your quality is Thor’s standard.

Great design and concept...poorest quality build on the market. I think they stood there with parts and decided at the last minute...let's just stick it in here, cover it up and nobody will notice it until it's to late. So glad mine is now in my mirrors. I dont think it would have made this recent trip.

You can get a CarFax which tells you where the vehicle was previously registered. The DMV in that State might be able to help you finding a previous owner.

On a side note:

I was always wondering any shop can do work on the engine. Assuming that it has a diesel engine, pretty much anything besides regular maintenance requires to remove the cab. No way to lift it with that Class C overhang.

Someone told us the same thing about the 2019 vs 2020, but ours is actually a 2019 on the registration; also 2019 chassis. Also when they put in the VIN, it also comes up a 2019. Being the prototype has nothing to do with being worse as the first. Thor has made ZERO changes to the construction of these things despite having to pay for these exact same fixes one after the other after the sale. I normally learn when I run into a brick wall after the first time that damage and/or pain will follow. Can’t say the same for TMC!!! ��*♀️��*♀️��*♀️

The predecessor of the Thor Super C’s was the Four Winds and Chateau, which were last availabile as a 2019 model year. Perhaps they were doing a cutover to the Omni / Magntiude mid-model year as they were winding down the Four Winds / Chateau.

All I can tell you is my 2020 Magnitide SV34 was manufactured by Thor in April 2019 and the Ford Chassis is a 2019 F-500.

The MCO said 2020 Model Year even though it was manufactured in April 2019 and the VIN is listed as a 2019 F-550 cab & chassis.

On this last trip out west, I got pulled over by an Arizona State Trooper for...get this...driving too slow (63 in a 70)...and failing to move to the emergency lane and let cars pass. He only gave me a warning. We also had quite a roadside debate as to why the VIN was one year and the Title/Registration was another. He kept saying..."I've never heard of that"...I kept saying..."well, I've said it 5 times now...yes you have". Each state handles this differently and each state also has a different nomenclature for what the brand of motorhome is called. The fun begins when you try to sell it to a private buyer...worse...in another state from you.

I've had 4 motorhomes and all had different chassis and house model years. Manufacturers often will buy a large lot of chassis and store them in their lot until needed. My 2007 Itasca was on a 2006 chassis for example and any emissions crap were of the 06 vintage, pre DPF and pre DEF. Current 22 Valencia on a 21 chassis and the title is a 22. Just the nature of the beast.

Reference driving too slow, some states have a requirement on 2 lane roads to pull over and let traffic get by. In WA I think it's posted if 3 or more are behind you pull over. But those areas provide areas/pull outs to do that.
