Front bumper alignment update

Back early June I described the front bumper as being out of alignment, not installed correctly at the factory. Took measurements and posted pictures. As a result of that posting, Thor CS PM'd me and ask me to email them, which I did. After conversations they wanted me to take it to the dealer for inspection. Took it to the local CW in early July along with a list of about 8 minor warranty things. I have had followups from Thor CS by email and phone. Last week I went by the CW to check on things and seems they haven't done much except submit it to Thor who did approve the repairs. Apparently Thor also called this CW to inquire the status and that may have prompted them to finally order some parts.

Frankly I have little confidence with this CW so I decided to look into the bumper issue myself. I originally thought it was molded incorrectly and it is sort of. Basic bumper OK but mounting holes not drilled or molded in the right places. The idiot at the factory apparently couldn't get it to line up so he/she just installed a couple machine screws that did reach and moved on. I took it all apart, elongated the mounting holes, bought some appropriate machine screws and guess what, couple hours work and all fixed.

I'll let the Thor CS rep know tomorrow that it's fixed. Maybe that's the end game. Wait out the customer until frustration sets in and they fix it themselves.

Frankly, that plastic bumper is stupid and the fog lights they installed put off zero light. If they went with the Lariat trim, the stock bumper would look great and have the factory fog lights.

When I removed the plastic bumper, the stock Ford bumper was pretty lightweight... plus they just sawlzawled off the tow hooks when with minimal effort that could have at least had the two hooks come through the plastic cover. I'm glad I went with the heavy duty bumper upgrade.

But neither here nor there..... Thor should be taking care of it.

I'll sell you my plastic cover if you need gray.

Thanks just what I need another POS thor bumper. Yes the fog lights are really sorry. There isn't any way they will illuminate anything beyond a few feet in front of the coach. I'm not going to sink anymore money in this just to make sure it's not wasted if things like the front cap start separating. I've got a 3 week, 2000 mile trip coming up in 2 weeks. Hoping for the best. No I won't use the automatic leveling feature.
