Adding Portable Renology Suitecase solar to the house battery.

I have researched in here and have not found this subject. If there is one I missed I apologize.

I would like to add a cable to the house battery in our Chateau 28A so that I can hook up our Renology suitcase solar panels to charge the battery while we are boon docking. Is there access from underneath to run the pig tail into the battery box. I assume there is just haven’t investigated this yet. The reason for this mod is for those cases when we are camping/boon docking at a site where they do not allow generators to be run. Side note; the renology panels have a built in charge controller.

Have any of you made this mod? If you did what issues did you run into while installing? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Your batteries are under the stairs?
If they are: this is easy...
Have someone open up your battery compartment, while you hand the cables up to them from under the rig.
(You do have clamps on the cable ends" don't you?).
Have them clamp on, and just make sure that they won't pop loose, and cause a short circuit down there.

Yes ours are under the stairs. The panel comes with a couple different pig tails for connecting them. I believe one is ring terminals and another is the clamps similar to jumper cables only smaller. I prefer the more permanent ring terminals to the clamps however will use the clamps in a pinch.

Thank you!

I use a clamp-on 40 Warr panel to keep my chassis battery fully charged...

I purchased a small renology panel for that purpose also. Does 40w work well for maintaining the chassis battery?
