Can Omni or Magnitude Sky Window remain open while travelling

I have a new Magnitude XG32 and am curious if it’s ok to travel with the front Sky window open. I realize sunlight will cause heat buildup Just want to make sure there isn’t other reasons to keep it shut while traveling. Thanks very much.

We do it when the boss isn't in the navigator's seat, and have had no issues.

Sorry, I want exactly clear on my question. The window is a fixed window at the front overhead bunk area of the cab. It has a large sliding shade and my thinking was to leave the shade open most of the time rather than constantly running the switch. The slide doesn’t look all that sturdy so I thought I would just leave it in the open position.

Yes. You can open/close it in any position and drive with it that way. Just be aware that the mechanism used for that shade is not the most reliable. Keep an eye on it as moves up and down as it can get stuck or come off the track. We finally got ours dialed in, but I am always on the watch to see when it is going to mess up again. In terms of heat build up that can be an issue when it is open if very hot out. We are looking at doing ceramic tint to help with that.

True about it coming off the tracks. I had to adjust my tracks to prevent this from happening. We have yet to close ours while traveling (been one year living in it full time). I would only close it during the hottest time of the year when we were in Florida.

Being in AZ we only open ours in the morning due to the relentless sunshine combined with the heat. It sure is great having it open in the morning though.
